Another night with Akamichi Drey gone. Another night alone by himself. The blue dragon stalked out of the den the two built together and headed down Drey's worned path to Serpent's Lake.

Just like every night, the lake was serene as ever with the calm surface and the moon crescent reflection. Sitting by the waters edge, Keeper stared down at his reflection. Two brilliantly bright eyes, one orange and the other azure. His left eye seemed to disappear with his fur and his right seemed out of place. This was how he was and Drey accepted it, so he did as well.

After her annoying experience with those two dustlings who threw rocks into her river, she decided to move downstream for a bit. She's lingered in the river for the longest time, yet never moved further down. As she continued down the river, the flow seemed to slow down with each gentle push of her tail. The push of the river towards the larger body of water slowed down to a gentle ripple almost. This meant she had to push herself harder in order to reach that body of water.

Her dull eyes scanned around the lake, the edges of the river enlarged, while the flow slowed. Floating gently about, as she skimmered across the bottom of the lake, silt and mud stirred into a cloud and trail around the area which she crossed. Eyes stared up at the surface world, staring at the glowing moon again. It was beautiful, as always.

The calm night water rippled destroying his reflection. Keeper's dual colored eyes lifted up upon the water's surface. There in the middle of Lake was a creature. A dustling? What was a dustling swimming in the middle of the lake at this time of night? Better yet, destroy such a tranquil scene?

"Hello there!" Keeper called out to the stranger. "What are you doing out there at this time of night?"

The noise echoed into her waters, and for a second her heart skipped a beat. Her dull eyes glared up at the dustling, wondering what he was doing by her waters. She swam about in her area, creating an even larger dust cloud in the bottom of the once serene lake. What made it even worse was he spoke to her, though she didn't understand, it made her glare up at him from under the murky waters.

After the dust cloud obssession passed, she settled along the bottom of the lake. Her eyes never swayed from the blue colored dustling, afraid he might be a potential threat to her. That, or he might invade her waters. The gills on the side of her neck flapped back and forth, absorbing oxygen into her lungs. He would have to make the first move.

Keepers mix-matched eyes looked down to the very bottom of the lake. He reliezed that the Dustling was no ordinary one. From all books Drey made him read, more like look at, no Dustling looked like this. This Dustling had fins, perhaps it evolved to adapt to water?

Keeper's curiousity pushed him to learn more of what this stranger was. He dipped his paw in and then the other. With a kick of his hind feet he came into the water. However, the dragon didn't know how to swim really, just stay afloat. He just had to keep his head up above the water. The dragon wanted a closer look.

The moment the dustling's paw dipped into the water, the moment Skuld's glare sharpened. He was tainting her waters, polluting it with fleas, dirt and other filthy objects. Even though this was her first time in this lake [at least that she recalls], it was part of her river, and thusly part of her waters. She sprinted about in the water quickly, her arms and legs tucked in for a faster speed. The merdustling was awaiting the moment he would enter her waters fully.

Her dull eyes watched intensely as the dustling slipped into her waters, staying afloat on the surface. From the way he tilted his head above the water, she could tell he was no swimmer. This was perfect, she would drag him under and give him a fright like no other for entering her waters.

She stopped her movements and sank to the bottom. With one kick off the ground, she raced towards the top in order to reach the dustling. Her tail flapping up and down, pushing her foward. When she was about to break surface, she grabbed hold of the dustling's leg and turned the other way, swimming down towards the bottom of the lake. This would be his punishment for entering her waters without permission.

Keeper's eyes widenin fright when his vision of the water's surface disappeared becoming that of the water itself. What was happening!? The water's surface was growing more distant each passing moment. What is happening!? the same questions running through his head. Keeper's eyes peered down below. That very Dustling he was curious about was dragging him down, it was going to drown in.

Out of instinct, Keeper jerked his body, claws, teeth, and all down to the Dustling attmepting to hurt it enough to release him before it was too late.

She kept diving deeper into the waters until the dustling started to flail about. Granted, she continued, but her speed compared to before was much slower. Her eyes winced slightly from the pain, though her tail never stopped moving. Once her frontal paws touched the bottom, her grip around the dustling's paw released, allowing him to swim or float back up to the surface.

The merdustling jerked away from the flaily dustling, swimming along the bottom once more and creating the dust cloud around her colorful body. Once she was far enough, her body settled onto the silt and mud, observing the dustling's movements. Hopefully after that scare, the dustling would leave her waters alone.

Keeper twisted around and jerked his body when the grip on him released. He twisted around and jerked his body in a zig-zag pattern to the surface. The blue dragon shot from the water and landed on the shore with a growl. "Show yourself coward!" he cried, a bit ticked off would be an understatement. "Get out here now!"

If he could, he would shred this beast with his claws. He met no harm in this creature and it attacked him, nearly a fatal blow. If it weren't for his instincts to survive he would have died. "Get out there!" he cried, kicking around on the shore, bits of dirt falling from the edge into the water.

The merdustling stared at the creature from the surface world, he was obviously quite mad at her even if she didn't understand a word he said. His tone of voice and the manner in which he spoke gave all those indications away to her. Skuld was obviously no fool, she wasn't about to enter unfamiliar territories just to satisfy the creature's hunger. The water world was hers, and she was most familiar in this place, probably to the point of arrogance even. Her waters has never failed to protect her, she was always able to escape within the cool liquid where she was born from. The surface world was dangerous, the last time [and probably first time] she entered the surface world she nearly died from hypothermia, she didn't want to go through this again just to owe another two-legged creature her life.

Small bits of dirt fell into the crystal clear waters, tainting the glass-like reflection with ugly brown colors. Some fell and merged with the bottom of the lake, while others floated above the waters, swaying left and right with the small current. The merdustling slowly swam around in the waters, her paws occationally dragging the silt resting on the bottom. Her dull eyes stared at the dustling that was obviously displeased with her, she waited for him to leave once more for she had no intention of harming him. Though, she had no malicious tendecies to begin with, she only wanted to give him a small bit of fright, which was highly exagerated now.

"Come out here right now!" he shouted out, body language given a bad vibe. He was furious. To be attacked for no reason could send anyone off. But with Keeper it met brutal, harsh revengence. "Get out of the water!" he shouted.

The thought of jumping in and dragging out the creature was the only one he needed to send him back into the water. Keeper jumped in the water, swinging his body to gather speed and mobility. He spotted the creature at the bottom of the lake. He held his breath as he floated before the creature. A dusting with fins. A low growl emitted from his throat, warning the creature.

Skuld raised a brow at the creature, was it foolish or simply too enraged to think logically? Normally any creature that faced any type of traumatic experience tends to stay away from the one who caused such grief, but this one was different...it returned into the water. Was it simply that he didn't know his place? The merdustling couldn't tell, but she thought that he was quite foolish to enter the waters again. His low growl was enough of a warning for her to move. She wasn't about to get herself killed in such a short time since her awakening.

With a flick of a tail, the merdustling swam past the enraged dustling. She tucked in her arms and legs, allowing full speed mobility. Her body turned naturally as she hugged the curves of the lake walls, swimming towards where the river and lake met. Even if that dustling were a strong swimmer, he would be nothing in comparison to her. She was born to swim, while he was born to walk. Eventually he would have to surface for air, while she could stay in the waters all her life if she wanted. She swam towards the entrance of the river, pushing hard against the gentle current of the river. Her eyes never turned back to stare at the creature, it would only slow her down. Skuld continued swimming at full speed up the river, knowing the dustling wasn't a strong swimmer at all.

Keeper growled louder and with an underwater gruff he swam back to the surface. The dragon shot out of the water and landed onto the earth with a loud thud. He growled more clearly and loudly now that he was in the open air. He wasn't going to let it get away that easily. Keeper rushed along the river to where the Lake met the river.

Keeper was build for running. His strong muscles pushed him forward to the river, he will stop that creature. With each thrust of his paws he moved ever so closer. Now he was running along side the creature and he wasn't going to let it get away. No.

Using his fish hunting skills Keeper lunged into the air and came down with a splash. This time he was going to grab onto it with all his might.

Skuld's ears rang as it growled. It was like it was pretending to be a lion, but even lions didn't roar like that. The noise was irritating her, and she could tell he was a fast runner from his pounding footsteps echoing into the water. Creatures enraged usually lack logic, depending on that thought, Skuld continued her fast paced swimming up the river, eyes and ears open to any sudden movements or changes.

When the creature lunged into the air, like a fish, she quickly flicked her tail and pushed herself even further foreward. He could leap into the waters all he wanted, even swim in it, but water was her territory, and she wasn't about to get caught like some dumb fish lounging about. Her tail continously moved, her thin body traveling in a streamline against the currents. The current was growing stronger with each push, she was almost at the point of hills, but it mattered to her little, for she was confident in her swimming skills. Worse case senerio, she could always swim into water filled caves where he can't reach her.
