The Spirit, the Soul and Magic: How it is connected
Okay, so what is magic really powered by? Does anyone really know? I don't even know, but I'll give you a brief theory (which isn't a answer):
Magic is powered by the spirit.
But how do you ask, "How IS magic powered by the spirit?" For this question to be asked, you must have both faith and knowledge, for being onesided makes you a stubborn person. Moving on...
What is the spirit: Our minds, will, thoughts, memories, knowledge, and personalities that make us who we are. Immortal, and cannot be sold to the Devil, it is the Brains of the Soul. THIS is what allows us to live.
What is the Soul: Our Ectoplasm, which allows us to exist in the Material World as ghosts. It is what the Devil Consumes for power, in an evil way, and is much different than Ether, pure spiritual energy.

Magic is change, the way you want it to be, wheter benificially or malevolently. In other words, you are casting your will onto the will of things. As there are certain schools, like Black and White, alchemy, Summoning, Elemental and such, skills like Ninjustu and Shaman's practices, as well as Monk's Chi attacks, count as well. How Come?

How does magic come? It is through your spirit. Here is how it goes:
"Magic" Is really excess spiritual energy. It is the over generated product of the spirit through actions, as simple as breathing! Thus meaning that after casting, it regenrates. However, other sources like Mana and Chakra are kind of like Magic. How come?
Limiter Energies:
Limiter Energies are Spiritual Energies generated by Gods of different dimensions, blocking off Magic, and trying to make their own energies for their creations. Chakra is one of them. Also, from my observations, Chakra is the result of continuous Physical and Mental Synchronization that then mashed with Evolution, which resulted into a Chi like energy, created from the strenuous work by cells and then stored in the same area. Mana, itself, is like Magic, however, trees, non-aggressive flora and produce are able to regenerate Mana. Those that eat the fruit of those trees of that dimension are able to retrieve lots of Mana back.
