ugh this year we're playing music by copland. fanfare for the common man hoedown (drum feature) buckaroo holiday/buck (i have a nice, long solo lolz) appalachian springs (like four measures for my solo here haha)
the music is pretty good, i think. but.. idunno. it seems like a boring marching show but we haven't gotten the drill yet. the drill might make a lot of difference

Let's see... in our flip folio we've got...
Show one: We're an American Band* These Boots are Made For Walking Proud Mary Walkin on Sunshine
Show two: Them Changes Travelin' Band More Today Than Yesterday Fire
*We set a record at my school today. We learned the music, drill, and then played and marched the drill on the first night. That has never happened before.
Oh yeah, Fire is one of my favorite songs!

The only music that changes form year to year is our show music, and this year we play Perils Of The Sky. I hate it. Its WAY to slowly paced, not the tempo, the essence of the song is SLOW. The Saxophones are the only ones who think this, even though the clarinetes and flutes both have very similar parts to us (another dislike). Just all around uncool. And the freshman are so, so............so .....silly, for lack of reason to be mean... evil
Are stand tunes are
:Hey Baby :R.E.S.P.E.C.T. :Time Lords :That song by Earth, Wind, and Fire..... :School Song :ect...

Relax and view life to its max.]]-
If I got to do appalachian springs, I'd be happy. We have an ex-band director compose our marching music, so I dunno what ours is yet. 0_o Band camp starts in two weeks.
Last year we had the first part of it based off a song from Lord of the Rings...Not a popular one, though. It's one of the songs a hobbit sings in the third movie. It sounded very much the same, but since no one ever really paid attention to the song, we had to have it pointed out to us. We were all like, 'Oh yeah, huh...'

It's in Midi ofrmat, but you get a taste of what it's supossed to sound like. It sounds so much cooler when we're all crammed into the auditorium though. (Big band) http://www.hhsbands.org/Marching Hawks.htmThere's a pause in the 2nd song for drum stuff

Last year we did a Georgia Themed show: -Georgia On My Mind -Devil Went Down To Georgia/Midnight Train to Georgia -Sweet Georgia Brown [which didn't end up good. The music was so hard, no one had it all, so it sounded horrible. But we did have a nice 4o count Scatter Drill where we ran around like a bunch of idiots biggrin ]
This year we're doin' a King Kong Show: -Opener [which is an arrangement of It's Deserted, Tooth and Claw, and Beauty Killed the Beast II] -Ballad [a.k.a. Beautiful] -Finale [which consists of King Chases Jack and Captured]
And then we have our usual stand tunes.
