The city of L’Angance is one of the most beautiful in the world. Its pearly white buildings reach high towards the clouds. Within the city walls, there are thirty-two houses; each has its own level of honor, respect, and reputation. Each house owns a portion of property; most have courtyards, gardens, large villas, and a guard. At the center of L’Angance, sits the beautiful castle, with its rounded edges and bubbled spires. The world of Angoire has never seen a more beautiful city. As is likely, such a city is likely to inspire envy. It is very true in this case; L’Angance has many enemies that strive to claim it as their own. It has held for over a hundred years, and as the queen would say, “It shall hold for at least as many years as a dragon takes breath.” Queen Agnice Hortunia is a fair woman; her courage and leadership have supported the city through thick and thin. Many of the wealthy houses have come to dislike her, while many of the smaller houses and non-noble citizens have come to admire her. This beautiful city has its dark sides: fifty years ago, under the rule of King James Schlauder; there was a large massacre in which hundreds of non-noble citizens perished under the royal flag. Today, there is still some hostility from some of the wealthy houses against the lesser houses and non-nobles. Towers in the city reach hundreds of feet high, all with similar architecture. Most of the buildings in designed with rounded corners and rounded roofs, and many are taller than two stories. The town is fairly prosperous, save for the lack of trade with one of the most envious of the neighboring cities, and the closest, more that two-hundred miles away, Sharnel. L’Angance is built on the banks of the river Ninvech, which is believed to be holy. The landscape surrounding L’Angance is lush and green, with mountains to the north and forests to the south, a main road serves as trade route for all in the world of Angoire.
L’Angance will start as soon as you see a picture of the map I am currently working on up. So start thinking about your characters; be unique!
You either came to the city in hopes of making a better life for yourself, you were born in the city under any of the houses, or as a non-noble born (Non-noble born citizens have more freedom, because they don’t have house responsibilities), you are just passing through, etc… Many possibilities!
Use common sense, and you own creativity! Create your own unique character (or characters), and have some fun with it. Angoire is a unique world, so make some unique characters. ((Technology here is a combination of advanced(future) and old (way past))) Start developing your characters now! ^_^ If you have any questions just PM me, I’ll be more than happy to answer!
Once we start, you can join any time, until then, just send me your character(s)’s story, bio, whatever and I’ll post directly under this post.
