You didn't need to double post.
PS2's run for about $120 IIRC. I think slim and old-type cost the same.
I reccomend skipping Extreme and just getting Extreme 2. Extreme 2's songlist was much better, and Dance Master Mode is actually pretty good practice. Supernova comes out in a couple months, so if you need a second version, hold off for that instead.

I just searched online for everything so this is what i think i am going to buy:
DDR Extreme 40.00 Universal Pad for GC and PS2 20.00 Ps2 Used: 90.00 Memory Card 20.00
DDR extreme is better than the ddr max so i am hoping my parents will get me all of this for my birthday in like a week in a half=]

I recommend MAX over MAX2 for Standard players, but if you're getting pretty serious with DDR, MAX2 might be a better way to go. I tried Extreme yesterday, hate the songlist, hate the gameplay format, hate the fact that they completely redid the song selection so that it's even more confusing than before, bad colour schemes, not too interesting. Anyway, Max, Max2, Extreme2, and SuperNova would probably all be worthwhile. Also, start saving up for a Cobalt Flux. You'll want one really bad after a couple months of being on Heavy.

DDR Max: An ok mix, hard to find, recent mixes are better.
DDR Max 2: Great songlist, second best PS2 mix IMO.
DDR Extreme: Nothing like the arcade version, pretty much sucks.
DDR Extreme 2: My favorite mix, best overall song selection.

Take 1un4r's word for it, he's insanely more DDR-savvy that me. (and doubly insanely more DDR-savvy than you) *runs off to look for a copy of Extreme2*

DDR Extreme 2: My favorite mix, best overall song selection. Agreed. Extreme's only redeeming qualities are the six Taka songs on there and You're Not Here, which I'm glad is making an appearance on Supernova. Don't even bother with it. Extreme 2 is the way to go.
