I know we have faced discrimination at one time or another due to our political beliefs.....In this thread feel free to tell any stories that you may have of hate and discrimination.

People calling me a killer because of the things that happened in the U.S.S.R. when Stalin was their leader. Too bad people don't bother to read about communism a little more. God, they are stupid actualy, like that comic was.
Being a communist probaly was one of the hardest things to tell to people for me.

I had a Soviet officer hat of mine torn at my school because some punk liberal couldn't out argue yours truly. I then got yelled at for calling her a Burgeois whore.

That whore bit made me giggle. heart
Hrm. I wrote "I believe that organized religion is evil and politically coercive" on a card I was required to fill out about religion at my college orientation. The aid didn't answer any more of my questions for the rest of our session. I guess that isn't very horrible, though. sweatdrop

I've actually never been descriminated against that I know of. I find keeping a civil tone and using a person's own morals/beliefs against them usually makes them more open to hearing you, I've never insulted anybody either, at least, openly insulted them.

Well most children at my school never even heard of communism. Though the ones who have heard of it, of course have the "communism is bad because dadddy said so" mentallity. So I usually just get yelled at by adults who dont even let me argue my point and also get called gay,f*****t, etc. by other kids whom dont really have any idea what communism really is. And of course the one time my "freind" called me gay because when I explained it he thought it was stupid and he said "why should i give some bum my money when i can buy a new vidoe game with it?"....really sad the stupidity and ignorance.

I have experienced a dismissal of the Communist beliefs more than once, but nothing beyond a war of ideas. Being a Communist is about as hard to tell people as being an atheist...semi-difficult.

Yeah, the girl who sits next to me in class was like:"Why should I pay more taxes because I'm richer than someone else?" Me:"Because everyone has the same to spend then". She:"But then I can buy less!" Me:"Well, actualy, when all taxes are equal, products will eventually get cheaper". She:"Well, still it's stupid, just because I have a good education I have to pay more". Someone else to her:"Hey! You're rich and not smart at all!" xd .

lucky_mysterious when all taxes are equal, products will eventually get cheaper". . What kind of nonsense is this? Taxes of course do affect prices because they affect aggergate demand, thus a rise in taxes means people have less money to spend so prices decrease and unemployment increases. But I don't see how this is a desirable outcome.

It's because of this obach...
Now taxes *may* go into government contracts, but will likely hit transfer payments which do go into the economy and are used for consumption (raising prices). However, in a society with State based productive property, tax revenues could be used for capital expansion- thus lowering prices.

Alright here is the letter I got on myspace the other day from this girl,I put up a bulletin saying this: I am a Communist, so I must be evil. The reason I did that was because it was listing the common steortypes. Okay here is her letter to me:
that wasn't a choice commy- sounds pretty evil to me....why choose communism? Everyone's on this "i'm a Nazi! I'm a Communist!" and I say "Look how that worked out the last time Bright Eyes!" so start talkin' commy, before i start dusting off the 'Red Scare' banners again.
next thing you know....some kids are gonna get together and say "Hey, those KKK dudes kinda had a point there for a moment."

I thought it was funny....However though I did send her this though:
"You are very Naive you know that? There is a difference between Communism and Totaltarianism. All the governments that called themselves Communist were Socialist Oppressive governments. That is not how it works, you must always remember one thing: history books tend to lie espicially when you are living in America. Why would I say a thing like that? Partly because they made the Trail of Tears look like a pinic. Before you judge, maybe you should read up on the subject. From a non-biased source. The problem today is that the major governments are ecnomic governments and not social governments. Too much greed is killing them and the world. Wars, Poverty, huge gap between the rich and poor.......I could go on and on. Well then again I dont know why I am explaining this all to you, as if I recall right: you were in a white BMW that one day. I hope you take some time and read about it before you judge something so off so quickly.....If the red scare did happen, so be it, I`d rather die for something I believed in,than live believing the lies of Capitalism. "
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Even after all these years, we are still pressured, exploited, and hated. It is sad....However though Europe is leading the way for Socialism......which is something to look forward at.

The most negative reactions I get because of my support of communism is from my father. Everytime he gets "robbed" with taxes, he comes yelling at me complaining of those "damned socialist liberals". It's rather amusing actually... His sisters find it absolutly hilareous that a die hard conservative like him as such a liberal daughter. XD
My friends and aquantances from school aren't really the type to talk politics and economics with, so I doubt they even know or care that I'm communist. I bore/annoy them if I bring up such topics, so there's no real discrimination there.
