I'm assuming you mean a recent event, and not something in your past which has been brought to light.
First thing to do is gather the evidence - even if that just means writing down your recollection, as precisely as you can and including a time/datestamp - and go to the police. If there's anyone who could provide corroboration, take that person as well. Don't wait. I mean don't even bother logging off Gaia. Do it now.
As a matter of fact, even if it's been forever since it occurred - get that evidence together. Get that corroborating testimony if available. Go to the police. If you're told that there's a statute which restricts your ability to bring charges, doublecheck that s**t yourself. Have them show it to you on the books.
There's nothing wrong in bringing a difficult-to-prove charge against someone who's raped you - it's the only way to keep it from happening again, to you or to someone else.
What are the circumstances surrounding others' disbelief? Are they unwilling to allow the thought that a family member or respected pillar of the community could do such a thing? Is it a case of ageism, misogyny, or misunderstood intent? Are they just unsympathetic assholes?

This is Gwyndara, I'm using my Muel.
If at anytime anyone is raped, no matter how tramatised they are they should always go to the hospital and have a rape kit done. I know it's humiliating and embarassing, but it needs to be done. The police need the forensic evidence to prove it. the person should not have to worry about what your friends and family think, the person needs to take care of themself. The person needs to also seek counciling. Talk to a professional therapist, not just your "friends" or talk to somone you trust and who will listen to you. ( the person who was rapped, not "you" specificly, unless this person is you.) Have pictures taken of the any bruses and scratches that may have happend.
Now if it's all to late for that because to much time has past, then the only thing the person can really do is talk to a therapist and try to deal with what has happend. It's not the person's fault who was raped, all the blame belongs to the Bastards who raped her.
If you want to talk to me about this go ahead and PM Gwyndara. heart

How long ago did it happen?
When was the investigation closed?
In what state did the incident occur?
Are all parties involved residents of that state? COROLLARY: Did any parties cross a state border during the commission of the crime?
Was it a single encounter, or multiple incidents over a period of time?
Were any other crimes committed in the course of the commission of the rape (kidnapping, theft, weapons violations, drug possession / distribution, etc.)?

I'm sorry to hear that. I was raped a long time ago. I never really had anyone not believe me. Have you tried talking to your parents or someone that you know would believe you? You could always talk to a guidance councler. Sorry for the miss spelling.
