[[ Ok, short FYI session. I'm a highly disorganized person, but in this thread I hope to semi organize my thoughts and spark some creativity. But thats me, as for the story that follows and the main characters... I, Celeanor, will be using my main account and my mule Pathen along with the three soquili associated with me. Everyone else is welcome and encouraged to jump in, no invite or permission needed! Just jump on in!
Word of warning: Pathen is a very unsocialized native and needs some lovin'. Thus he may be prone to trying to kidnap your poor soquili. But don't worry... Flame will bite him. twisted
Also: Dramatic fights may ensue, as this will be the first time two of my characters will meet ICly. (( IC: Flame ))
The urge to sniff out the contents of the heavy satchel was strong... but so were the words of warning from Celei, the red-heaired native maiden he looked to these days. Which was saying a lot of course, seeing as the fiery stallion did not often abide by anyone's warnings. sometimes not even his own.
But he had learned a hard lesson the past few weeks, and no matter how many times he tried to forgive himself and move on... the whispers in his dreams kept the issue forever at the forefront of his thoughts. Unsolved, still raw, and very heartbroken.
And yet, he had hope that finding his young pupil would ease some of his heartache, and perhaps after that.. he would seek out the golden mare Nasnan again.
"But until then.." he grumbled, averting his nose from the satchel at his side, "I am going to kill this boy."

Looking up from his fishing, the young native hunter squinted against the sunlight, trying to focus his gaze on a moving shadow among the trees. Failing that, he turned back to his makeshift fishing pole and sighed, thinking once again of the burnished golden stallion he had almost made friends with the other day.
"He was so handsome... and nice too.. all the others simply broke my rope, he left it neatly coiled next to the tree..." Pathen mumbled, switching the pole to the other hand.
((and this would be the mule xD ))

Astia sighed, the last few days had been stressful.. and heartbreaking. She needed to walk, try to get the faces out of her head.. Bairn, Bliss, Ru, so many others.. The rythme of her hooves calmed the gold mare, like a beat. Tha thump, tha thump, thump, tha thump. She closed her eyes, listening to the nature around her.
The birds were chirping, squirrels making thier general chatter, and leaves rustling. The chatter they were making calmed her a bit too, but she never noticed the red stallion muttering to himself.

A flash of gold amid the forest gloom caught his wandering eyes, and the stallion paused to focus on the distant shape, hoping that it was Nasnan.. but praying it was Tai.
After a moment, in which he couldn't discern who/what it was, he called out reluctantly. "Who goes there?"

They were going nowhere in particular. The heat of the day pressed in on her and made her want to pant. Her closed eyes glowed with the overpowering luminence of the sun, and the pressure of it's heat bore down on her exposed skin. A faint sigh escaped her as she bore up under the suffocating summer heat.
But distracting her was the rythm and contrasting warmth beneath her back. Her body rocked and shifted with it... a slow four-point beat. The beat was steady and did not change, and it made her smile. She unlaced her fingers from atop her belly and slid a hand down the silky hide of the stallion. How safe and comfortable he made her feel! As if the rest of the world could just fade away, leaving only him and her in their own peaceful world. Even the sun's ferocity paled when confronted with her contentment when upon the red bay's back.
Eloran stayed very aware of the being on his back. Her body was stretched out, back to back with his own. She hardly seemed a burden, though, as she moved with him, as if they were one instead of just joined. Her strokes along his barrel made him relax a little more, without marring the repetitive beat of his hooves.
However, even in this perfect moment of communion with his human, his dream haunted him. In his mind the image of that glowing soquili shone brighter than even the sun in it's full daytime glare, such as now. He knew it mattered. Something about the dream had bearing on his real life, on his future. All he could do, though, was to patiently wait for it to become clear to him.

Astia blinked. "Hello?" She called out quietly. She had not expected to meet anyone. Ah well, too late now. She wandered closer to the bright red shape. "I am Astia. Who are you?" She answered, reluctantly.

Astia? Chagrined that the figure was neither of the soquili he sought, Flame pushed his way towards the distinctly female voice anyway. It wasn't like him to be rude... though recent events had made him so on more then one occasion... and he would at least introduce himself before polietly excusing himself.
Yes, politeness was the name of the game now, along with real thoughts for what his actions did to others.
"My sincere apologies m'lady, I thought you were another. I hope I did not disturb your walk." he said as he approached.

Astia smiled lightly. "Hello there, no need to be sorry, It's nothing." She nodded. "And who do you happen to be?" The mare asked, gazing at the Stallions flame-colored coat.

Beginning to grow bored with catching his would be dinner, the raven haired youth put the pole to the side, jerry-rigging it to a nearby branch in the hopes that something would bite the hook while he was away.
Not that he knew where he was going... the lad hadn't a home and often slept in the trees and dwelled during the day amid the forest-kin, hoping against hope that a beautiful soquili would visit him, or that a kindly Kawani teach him some of their language and how they managed to attract so many soquili.

Arching an eyebrow delicately, Flame once again rethought his vows on politeness... and answered her as best he could.
"I am Flame, Ms. Astia, and it is a pleasure to meet you."

Astia grinned, and pawed the ground lightly, eager to get back to her walk. But she could wait another minute or two, to chat with this stallion. "Flame, you say?" A grin alighted her face. "What a nice name! A please to meet you, Sir Flame."

Allowing a soft, real, smile to cross his features.. the stallion of fire decided this mare was actually worth the polite words and good graces.
"The pleasure is mine, and please correct me if I intrude, but is there anything that I can help you with? Your voice sounded less then enthused when we first called out to one another."

Astia was releived. He seemed ice. A bit stiff at first, but he seemed to relax. She smiled quietly. "No, I was just not expecting to see anyone on my walk.." The mare trailed off, but quickly added, "Thankyou, though, Sir Flame, for asking." She bowed quickly.

Tal must have drifted off, lulled by the slow rocking rhythm of Eloran's steps, for she awoke slowly to a new sound. A burbling laugh, like liquid pleasure, made her smile before she opened her eyes. It was her hearing that came to her first, and she allowed it to only slowly draw her out. Lazily, she became aware of her vision through closed lids. No longer did the sun gleam redly, but flashes of yellow interspersed with a darker moment, with the hint of green touched her lids. Stretching cautiously, so as not to topple herself from Eloran's back, she opened her eyes to smile delightedly upwards into a dappled green canopy, punctured with brilliant blue holes and golden streams of sunlight.
With another luxuiant stretch, she sat up and leaned to scratch the stallion's neck affectionately. "What have I missed while I dozed, hooved brother?" It did not matter that the words were meaningless of of themselves. She knew he would understand her tone, and thus understand her heart. He always did.
Eloran snorted at the question and came to a stop, his head turning to one side. Turning that directio nas well, she refocused on the sound of the running, laughing, trickling water. "Oh yes, I agree. A drink and bit of splashing sounds wonderful. She slipped down from his back and stretched once more before setting off with a swinging stride into the forest, following the sound of the water and marveling at the loveliness all around them.

The fiery stallion inclined his chiseled head regally, the slight twinkle in his eye being the only sign of his inner amusement. "M'lady there is no need to bow, it is the gentleman who must do so in the presence of a respectable lady." he said calmly, then paused in thought.
After a moment he spoke again. "Ms. Astia, may I ask you a question?"
