Israeli folk dancing is neat; I haven't seen or read much, but what I have seen/read, it's something I'd love to try. Often times dances are set to specific song (like the hustle in the US and some other places), and they usually have some really neat steps.

For my favorite example, scroll to the bottom of this page (there's a quicktime video) http://homepage.mac.com/israeli_folk_dances/iMovieTheater248.html (And for anyone who cares, the singer of this song is my favorite singer, Ofra Haza. whee )

Of course, you can click the other many links to watch other videos. 3nodding

I would love to learn these dances (in fact, a friend of mine and I are working on teaching ourselves the one I linked to), and wondered if anyone else had interest or knew anything about them too. whee

EDITed for speeeeelling. (Damn you, 'Israel', for being so hard to spell!) And to add these notes:

1.) There's a dance to part of Desert Rose on here, too. whee
2.) If you know what you're looking for, you can find other Ofra Haza songs, too. Even if they did call Im Nin' Alu 'Galbi'. XD
