I believe it's an all ages show, though I'm sure the crowd would make me cover the eyes of anyone 10 and under.. hurhur.
Anyway. It looks like two of us are planning to go:
7 May 2005 at The Masquerade in Tampa/Ybor city.
Anyone interested in carpool or meetup?
[ EDIT ] VNV Nation has been hailed as one of the pioneers of ebm [electric body music]. The exact definition of this style of music is still under great debate, though it's best described for easy reference as dark techno meets industrial - a sort of middle ground between the two.
Their latest album, Matter & Form seems to be on the lighter side, however, and to most longtime VNV fans rather disappointing. Some go so far as to claim it's stuck in the 80s style wise [I disagree but eh.]
The Masquerade is a club in Ybor city often labeled a "goth" club.
Given the combination of artist and club, I do not expect this concert to be safe for the weak hearted, nor those who haven't quite been exposed to the industrial life style.
BUT, if you wish to experience an evening of fabulously dancable not so ambient techno, you're more than welcome to join us.

Any more details? I have to work until 5pm in Venice, so I could be up there by 7ish. But I also have to work the next day for 9am-5pm so I also couldn't be in Tampa till 2am. hmmm, doesn't leave a lot of room there does it. Well let me know. smile

Sutefan Any more details? I have to work until 5pm in Venice, so I could be up there by 7ish. But I also have to work the next day for 9am-5pm so I also couldn't be in Tampa till 2am. hmmm, doesn't leave a lot of room there does it. Well let me know. smile
That's prolly decided when everyone who is interested speaks up. ^^;;
If someone lives near the Masquerade that would be uber helpful so we'd have help finding a definite place to meet.

VNV Nation is an ebm [electric body music] band and will be performing at a club called Masquerade. Their music is like a cross between dark techno and industrial.

I talked to the people over at saddlers and they said that they've done the elastic fin things before. Unfortunatly I wasn't able to get a price becuase they need to see what exactly it is that they're working with.

I love their music (only heard samples downloaded off the internet). Sadly, I probably have to work Saturday and Sunday. crying And Ybor is about an hour away from me. gonk I've never been to The Masquerade. I've never been to any club for that matter. xp

I went to that concert! I stood in the front row it was so awesome. That was my first vnv nation concert. Did anyone think they messed up the audio though? Someone spilled water on a speaker and I could not her vocals well. And war tapes? O.o I ould not stand them.
