I see a lot of players hidding their stats, especially their lvls. Its either they are AFK, sleeping while their toons are sitting down hoping that people buy from their bazaar or don't want to be bothered.
Well, I'm using /anon when I'm on my whm, because people send me tells to teleport them. The thing is, I can give them a ride for a fee, but I have no way getting back. That's why I'm hiding my stats, especially I need my blm to get to lvl 17 then I can take off /anon mode, so I can easily warp back.
Or I wish not to be bothered. If I'm really busy, on a quest or mission, I dont want to hear bunch of tells for teleporting. Again, I need to lvl my blm, so my tele public transportation is unavaible, but if they wish to be teleported where I'm heading the same direction, that is fine...
So anyone else use /anon for a special reason?

Nope i dont use it at all. but on that note i do find it EXTREAMLY annoying when people Hide and then search for parties >.>

At the topic, I only use /anon in two situations: First situation is when I don't want to receive tells asking if I want to join someone's party. I like to do some things on my own for a while, like quests, missions, crafting, or even just running around to areas I've never been to before on the map. Second situation is if I'm doing something that has my job/sub looking ridiculous. I've had occassions where I was running around some towns or areas when I had a high-level job with a level 1 sub. It's a bit embarrassing, so I used /anon to hide it.

BRD75 - I anon whenever I'm not seeking.
Or if I'm passing low-level area. I don't wish to get tells asking if I'm able to Raise someone.
I do mentor though, if they got any questions I'm free to help them.

I use it pretty much 99.5% of the time. The .5% I don't use it, it's because I already have a PT put together for my NIN so people know what their PT leader's job is, or when my LS leader wants everyone off anon so people can have an easier time putting some people in the main alliance for something since not everyone has memorized everyone's job yet or for the people that have multiple 75s (There's this one girl in my LS who has practically everything but MNK, DRG, PUP, BLU, BST, and maybe PLD not at level 75 at the moment...yet.).
Other then that, it's normally on when I don't want to be bugged by people asking me to PT on my WAR since I've not been in the mood to lately yet do some leveling here and there with LS mates. Really need to PT more, though, to finish off my merits for WAR and the ones I can for NIN...Eh...Besides the point now.
Pretty much, it's on majority of the time, off when I'm in a PT on my NIN or for LS purposes only.

She's farming!" I just kinda want to be left alone sweatdrop

I never anon. And I'm a 75 brd, whm, and rdm. Call me crazy. lol I just don't mind the tells. I have no problem answering "No thanks" or "Busy now sorry"
If I'm anon it's my friend playing my char. He always puts me on anon and it annoys me lol

Those Tells would drive me up a wall. I actually am not anon alot. As THF or SAM partys are hard to come by so im glad to accept whenever they come along. But i do hate when somebody is lfp on /anon, they are either incredably stupid as to not notice or from what i have seen they are RMT =X

I rarly go on anon. Ussually only when I'm overnight bazzaring or camping nms.

i do that when i am using my white mage :p mages are one of the most sought out classess in a pt >.< even when i don't want to level i get all these tells asking me to pt. The other thing is the teleporting issue :p

I am almost always on /anon. As a 62 taru blm I get spammed /tell's from noobs asking for free PLs, help with simply chalengeless quests and missions and the such. I also use /anon and walk about without my gear on when I have a ballista comeing up. With all the jobs I have at a decent level it's fun watching people try to guess what I came as.
