All right. The first thing that you have to understand is that I'm still trying to work out Blender's counter-intuitive functionality. I'm getting used to it, but I am by no means an expert. This is my first real project, but I'm trying to make it look as good as possible. I am taking this very, very slowly, since I'm trying to make the entire scene as realistic as possible. I want as many critiques as possible. I know that it will have flaws, and I want people to point them out. I'll list many of the flaws that I know it has, and my progress. I'll post screenshots as I progress. Now, here are the screenshots of the project: [X][X][X]And these are the various short(no more than two minutes, twenty seconds apiece) videos that I've made for the project. These links will send you to YouTube, where you can watch them without having to download them. [X][X][X]

Well, I'm completely at a loss with 3D... I couldn't help, especially in these early, early stages.
But here's an artist that does a lot of space-type works like that: http://dilekt.deviantart.com/
He links to tutorials in his journal, so you could probably gain stuff from that. ^^

This is so cool. It's going to be so much fun watching this thing progress. ^^
Is it terribly hard to do? How long has it taken you so far?

3D might be beyond you, but hand-artistry is beyond me. I can draw. I just can't draw very well. Better than most of the people I know, but I don't really practice. I just sketch a few images every now and then.
Once you get the hang of Blender's interface, all that's left is learning how to manipulate vertices, edges, and faces. Blender is a bit counter-intuitive(as mentioned above), but once you get used to it, you find that it is actually fairly efficient.
I learned about Blender when someone on a Redwall roleplaying site posted some 3D images he made of some of the characters and items from the stories.
It's difficult when you get started, but it's not too hard. For the record, I'm uploading some AVI videos of my progress to Youtube, and I'll post the links in the first post. That way, you can see it actually see all of it, rather than a few screenshots.

Anything beyond flat, simple pictures has a tendancy to trip me up. I can't even work the animation program on my computer. My brain explodes when I try. xd
Wowzerz. The system looks really cool, looking at it from all angles. <33
Does it ever get confusing, having to keep an eye on all the different views?

This picture should answer that question. Blender allows you to split the screen into a number of windows.

I added this to the first post to make it easy to find, but: I need some textures for this project. Visit the thread for details. Update: Yays! Two planets, a habitable moon, and three normal moons added! One screenshot added to the first post, and a new video is coming as soon as YouTube finishes processing it!

Amagad, Sormani voice. XD
Sorry. I'm immature.
Anyway! Umm... textures. Do you just want like... a 2D like picture? Have any sample of a "texture" might look like?

All I need is a 2D drawing of a crater. On pure white paper. The lines from notebook paper would look weird on a moon. For the record, the new video is ready to watch. I added it to the first post.

I don't want any seams, and if I get an uncolored drawing, I can color it myself.
