I've been reading a lot about this movie recently. Is anyone else as excited as I am? I know a lot of people are disappointed by it because they said it's just exposing Joy Division to a new generation of people who won't really appreciate him, or people are mad that they're profiting off of his life, which is something he would most likely be against.
Me? The only thing I'm disappointed about is the fact that Cillian Murphy won't be playing Ian Curtis.

Yes, and even more so.
Control is going to be the best movie, ever. I really love what I've seen of Anton Corbjin's work, he's a great director.
The "exposing Joy Division to a new generation of people who won't really appreciate him" is just a load of bullshit, well, thats what I think anyway. Most people who dont already know about Joy Division probably wont even bother to see the film.
Although I could empathise with the people who are angry that they're profiting off of his life. But that kinda thing is nothing new anyway. Its nothing worse than writing a biography, which I'm pretty sure has already been done on Ian anyway.
and I dont know who cillian murphy is. = P
