Guppies Scientific name:Poecilia reticulata Size:2-2.5 inches Temperature:68-78 °F pH:7.0-8.5
Diet:They will eat almost any flake/freeze-dried food, and some live foods such as tubafex worms. Behavior:Verry peaceful, but can annoy other fish. Guppies tend to follow other fish around the tank but dont harm them. Note: Not as hardy as they used to be, but still breed like crazy. I recomend only males, unless you have lots of tanks to fill with guppies. They come in MANY varieties, all are VERY beautiful.

Swordtails Scientific name:Xiphophorus hellerii [and many others] Size:3-4 inches Temperature:72-80 °F pH:7.0-8.0
Diet:They will eat almost any flake/freeze-dried food, and like to have some algae from time to time. Behavior:Mildy agressive but still pretty peaceful. Best if kept in trios of 1 male to every 2 females. Note: The dominant male in the tank will have the longest tail. If you place a swordtail in the tank that has a longer tail than the dominant male his will grow. Swordtails are sometimes confused with a type of platty that has a sword-like tail. Swordtails can also inbreed with Platties but it sometimes results in deformed fish.

Sailfin molly's Scientific name:Poecilia latipinna Size:4 inches Temperature:72-82 °F pH:7.0-8.4
Diet:Omnivorus. Will eat almost any food, likes to have algae tablets from time to time but flake food works fine. Behavior:Most mollies are peaceful, great community fish. But, some are quite agressive. It's still safe to put them in a community tank with peaceful fish. Note: Mollies are brakish fish, they need to have lots of salt in the tank especialy when they get older. Some people have succesfuly kept them in a completely saltwater environment, but they seem uncomfortable in a freshwater tank and get the shimmys easily.

Platies
Scientific name: Xiphophorus maculatus Size: Up to 2½ inches Temperature: 64-77°F pH: pH 6.9 -8.2
Diet: Will eat most flakes and freeze dried foods. Behavior: Peaceful, great for adding color to a community tank. Unlike most livebearers, the males "dance" for dominance. Note: Males are smaller more brightly colored then females. They also can cross-breed with swordtails. Be careful unless you want a bunch of sword/platy babies.
