Name: Matareka
Age: He's a teenager, probably around 17 or so.
Birthday: He manifested on November 6, but his real birthdate is unknown.
Zodiac: Scorpio, Rooster.
Ethnicity: Who knows? Doesn't seem like he's from the mainland, though...
Sexuality: You never know with him...
Alignment: Probably Good, even if he plays tricks on people. He doesn't mean any harm.

Favorites: Shrimp, kalamari, sushi, tunafish sandwiches, rabbits, rain, playing tricks on people.
Dislikes: Dark and depressed people, being ignored, cottage cheese, people bothering Lapaki, having his fun ruined.
Quirks: Rain and thunderstorms gets him excited, makes it a point to smell flowers he comes across, gets irritated when people belittle his trickery.

Appearance: He's tall, but not unusually so for his age. Mat's hair is a dark brown color taken from Itsuki, usually thrown into a ponytail. His eyes are blue and his skin is pretty tanned. He has a shell necklace and a few bracelets he wears. Always with him is his rabbit, Lapaki.

Tastes: He prefers light, breezy clothing and sandals. His favorite colors are usually lighter or pastel in tone. Mat prefers seafood and vegetables, and it usually doesn't matter how they're prepared.

Personality, etc.: Mat has a very upbeat and lighthearted personality. He views life in a cheerful way and has a hard time dealing with gloomy characters. One of his favorite hobbies is playing tricks on people and because of this, he is rarely serious. He's constantly sarcastic and often comes across as a smartass. However, he never means any harm and does all of his trickery in good fun. But he takes the work seriously and doesn't like others messing it up or putting it down in any way. Mat does take his loyalty seriously and defends his friends, especially Lapaki.
In a nutshell: Mat is your average happy, life-loving trickster who cares about friends and what he does.

Main goal in life: He doesn't really have one yet. Not exactly goal-oriented...
Biggest Want: To be well-liked.
Biggest Fear: To be ignored and written off.

Most likely found doing: Wandering the city, laying on a beach or in a meadow, playing tricks on unsuspecting victims, playing with Lapaki.

Origin: Matareka came from a necklace Ian bought from the Through the Looking Glass shop where she got Itsuki. She had no intention of buying a companion or simulacra, only a present for Itsuki to cheer him up. The style of the necklace has a handmade, tiki kind of look to it.

The necklace was sold in a Spring/April auction as a companion, artwork done by guest artist BukuBuku. Ian won the auction for 72k and he arrived in the beginning of November.

Mat has discovered Zanna as being his charge, although he isn't completely sure what it all means. He knows there is a connection between them, this he can feel, and it would be better to stay near her. There is something about the markings on Zanna's stomach that interest him, but he can't quite put his finger on it.

Mat is happy for her love of animals, but hopes to fix her rigid personality. Enjoys annoying her, but knows not to push his limits.

How has Mat faired in the social game? At the moment he hasn't met many people.




Itsuki: He sees him as the guardian of his necklace, and so he has some respect for him. Otherwise, he thinks the little 'shrimp' has to lighten up a bit and quit worrying so much.


Zanna: Naturally, he gets along with her. Just how much? ... Well, it depends on the day. XD Mat feels content when he's near her and she seems to be the one who brings a more calmer, thoughtful side out of him. He has fun with the idea of playing pranks on her (with such a strong personality) but isn't dumb enough to do it yet.

Nope...

Mat's pet bunny, Lapaki! He's a white rabbit with gold eyes and soft fur. n.n; His name literally means "rabbit".

The next day, Ian had nearly forgotten the necklace again until she reached for her journal and found the jewelry shoved in the drawer ontop of the thin booklet.

"Hrm. I still need to give this to him..." She frowned and after writing in her diary, she stood up and headed to the apartment's bedroom.

A few moments after a soft knock, the door opened to reveal the young Simu with his recent look of angst. Ian was starting to miss his glares again and hoped things would return to normal soon. And this will help.

She held up the necklace to the boy as an offering, explaining, "I bought this as a gift to you."

Itsuki looked it over boredly for a moment. He reached out to touch the tooth pendant and shuddered at a strange feeling. He couldn't quite place it, it was nothing evil but strangely familiar. Kind of like the feeling when he was around other Simulacrum? ... But, different?

He frowned, taking the jewelry and donning it around his neck. It didn't exactly match his outfit but it didn't clash, either. Itsuki merely shrugged at his guardian as a sign of appreciation. She took this as a good sign and smiled at him before he closed the door.

The familiar feeling turned into something softer. Itsuki felt strangely calmer now, but thought nothing of it. He continued putting his things together to leave for the shop.
