Out of all the pridelanders, there was one who still stuck to her beliefes, stuck to the dreams and memories of her youthful journey. While most were content with sticking around the watering holes, this lioness always loved to move across the lands, ranging from the ant mounds to the spiraling rivers and back again. This day, however, she was at neither place, for Palesa had a more important job to do. It was not time for her to wander in search for her 'brother', nor for her to make sure that Red was tucked safely away in the back of Na's mind. No, today she was going to teach her son all she knew about the lands around them, and about the winds that carressed each tree and blade of grass.
She started off early in the morning, telling her small family to wake up and meet her at the plateu of pride rock before moving out to stretch. Now that the cubs were starting to eat meat, she worried for them a bit and went to hunt, catching a small beast before taking it back and glaring at all who seemed keen on stealing it. They would have to think twice before stealing meat from a newly mother who had to fend for her cubs, and somehow she had the feeling they knew their lack of odds.
Shaking her head at the thought, and smirking slightly to herself, Palesa hopped eligantly up the 'stairs' towards the dens where the royalty slept. Her mind wandered to Kamilika, and how she had yet to know that Ta was missing, probably because she was still missing herself. Letting out a deep sigh, and moving to the end of the plateu, Palesa settled down the meet and settled on her haunches to wait, her eyes closed and her mind on the winds.
It took a few minutes for the small cub to comprehend what his mother had said, but as soon as the thought and request slipped through his mind, he was up and letting out a large yawn for his small maw. Kikore never was one to look at anything darkly, so as he glanced around his family, he just thought of his mother and what she had to offer, instead of how strange the group of five had become. Vit, his elder sister, seemed content with being off on her own now a days, and also had this strange glint that was growing in her eyes. He notices that she seemed like she wanted to be alone, possibly for her pelt, but now she flaunted the strange markings, though each sibling had one.
Somehow, Kikore had a feeling that she knew what the neon markings were, while he and Ivie still were held in the dark by the black ones on their toes and where all of the white came from.
Looking to the other sister in question, he wondered if they had heard their mother speak, and before long couldn't wait much longer, just glancing across their faces really quick.
"Vit, Ivie, Momma wants to see us today..." He whispered, his blue nose brushing the lighter pelt and the darker pelt in turn, "...she said Pride Rock, remember, maybe she is going to tell us a story or we are going to have a lesson..." His tones were soft and respectful, but his paws were shifting every moment as he wanted to go out and greet the day, and learn all he could from his mother. Hopefully, at least one sister would wake soon, and they could go and visit the awaiting lioness before the day was over.

"Mrrr...aunn..brr." Was Ivie's sleepy reply from where she lay curled up at the far side of the den, her body huddled tightly together so that it seemed almost impossible to unknot her. In fact for a moment it seemed like she had no intention of getting up, that was until she felt her brother's velvet nose brush lightly against her fur.
A shiver lanced up the length of her curved spine that sent her fur standing up on end as she rolled away and onto her belly.
"Kikore!" She squeaked, small brow furrowing as she regarded her elder brother through stern eyes. "Don't touch meee!" With that said the little cub got to her feet and shook herself vigorously, letting her fur smooth over once more. It wouldn't do to be all messy especially if they had somewhere important to be.
"We have to go all the way to Pride Rock for a story? Well that sure sounds weird." She gave him a skeptical look, "are you sure about this?"

Vit sighed at Kikore, frowning, only just awake. She didn't much like the sound of lessons, they sounded like boring things, sitting around hearing about history when really, history didn't matter, it was the future that really counted. It hadn't occured to her as yet that the imparted wisdom of her elders could actually prove useful and enlightening, she was nothing more than an ignorant cub. Well, ignorant in most things, she still clung to her knowledge of her background like a lifeline, constantly reminding herself of whose pawprints she followed in.
"Awwrr, Kikore, I hope it's a story, lessons are boring." with a stretch and a yawn she rolled from her back onto her belly and got to her paws. "But yeah, I can't be bothered getting into trouble for not moving when asked to."
Still somewhat groggy she headed towards the exit to the den, pausing only for a moment or two to wait on her siblings.

Not hiding the hurt in his eyes, Kikore turned from his younger sister at the cry for him to stop, and he looked to the ground in defeat. All he wanted was to protect both of them, and to be loved, but as Vit seemed to seclude herself and sheild herself away, it seemed harder and harder. Ivie was easier, but now a days she just seemed to stick to herself as well and had this thing about people touching her.
Keeping his amber eyes downcast, he just padded away from Ivie to let her get up on her own, once more wallowing in defeat that would later grow unacceptable in his mind. One day, when he would grow into a strong lion, nothing would stop him and he would have the love of his family and more.
Choosing to leave her complaints unanswered, he instead let his eyes flicker onto his darker sibling, who always got the ways of the leader and headed to the front. Stand-offish in a sense, she still held the respect he always wanted, and the adoration of the family as well. Somehow, he couldn't quite meet her gaze as well, and just sighed before looking back to the ground ahead of his paws.
"She didn't say what she wanted to do..." He said softly as he passed his sister, looking out to the sunrise that caressed the lands around them. The best feature of the lands was the same feature that Na loved, it was the warm feeling of home. No matter what, Kikore knew that this place would always be his home and his salvation, a place to remember and tuck deep in his heart. The sunrise was one of the things he tucked away, hoping to never forget in times to come, even though he knew he would see it a million times and more.

Slightly annoyed that she was being ignored Ivie was quick onto her feet and following her siblings to the entrance of the den, pausing to gaze at both of them with her jaded eyes.
"Well I doubt mother would have told us to meet her if it wasn't important. I bet it'll be a good no matter what it is. A shame she couldn't tell us here though, it's hot out and my legs hurt."
Her complaining continued as she trotted away from the cavern and along the rocky slope that would eventually lead to the place where they would meet mother.
Her gait was still clumsy and muddled, her paws sometimes entangling so that she was sent sprawling to the ground. It made the going slow but she didn't let it put her off, she knew that she'd soon get the hang of her paws and when she did she'd be able to walk and run with all the elegance of a proper huntress!

In Vit's mind, she was the center of the world, all things existed to keep her happy and it was unthinkable that other lions have feelings too. It was this skewed perception that meant she saw the hurt flicker briefly in her brother's eyes but neglected to comment. To the blue female her family and parents were important to her, tied with blood bonds. But she was no good at expressing this fondness for her siblings and simply assumed that they would see through her callous exterior to that spark of familial love that still burned within.
When she looked on the sunrise, she didn't see the beauty her brother did, simply saw vast lands, anywhere within which could be found lions she could only dream about. She nodded "We'll just have to see what it's about then."
As they walked, every time Ivie fell over she grew more and more impatient, her tail swishing peevishy. "Just put one paw in fron of the other, it's not hard!"

Everything seemed to be going wrong that morning, backfireing in every way that made Kikore more on edge and more fumbling than before. As he walked behind the two, he saw the verbal attack before it happened, and let out a low hiss, more a release of air than the dangerous warning his mother was skilled at.
All at once, his irritation seemed to snap, and he rushed to catch up, brushing past both before turning and glaring at Vit with his emotional windows. Disappointment shown instead of anger, and he just stood in front of her to force her to pause, waiting a second before he let out a low growl, or as low as he could, just to get the point across.
"That's uncalled for, and you know it," He cut himself off before saying anything more, cast her another disapproving glance and disappointed frown, before turning and moving in front to lower his head slightly. Apparently, in his mind that was strike three. Of all the things, he hated being the bad cop in everything, and somehow, that just happened. So he kept silent the rest of the way, a good ten yards in front of his siblings, and in a form of self punishment for everything he did that morning. It made sense to give himself a time out for what he was about to say before he cut himself off.
He was about to ask Vit just who she though she was, and he knew that was too much for his sister, and something she didn't deserve.

The green cub paused mid-step, turning around to face the blue sibling with mouth open, obviously preparing to give a sharp retort. She could have a sharp tongue when such a thing was needed.
"Well actu--"
She found herself being cut off by her approaching brother, his words interrupting anything she might have said. Her heart gave a strange twitch to think of her brother sticking up for her and she let her jaw clamp shut, tail curling around a hind leg as she turned fully to face her siblings. It seemed however that her knight in shining armor was not all he was cracked up to be, for he seemed to lose heart in his own words and continued on his way.
Ivie's expression was one of confusion so with a small shrug and a wide smile directed at Vit she turned and gave chase after Kikore, tripping only once before falling into step beside him.
"Uhh...thanks, I guess." It was strange thanking someone for something but somehow it just seemed the right thing to do.

Vit seemed unphased by her brother's cutting retort, simply grinnng darkly at him as he spoke. "Of course I know it's uncalled for. But I call for it." She shrugged as he walked off ahead, apparently leaving some things unsaid. In her stubborn head, that counted as a victory for her and she picked up a bit of a swagger as she followed after the two.
There was a slight twinge of guilt at the dissapointment she had seen mirrored in the eyes of her brother but she pushed it away, allowing herself to fall behind the two as they spoke, having once again distanced herslef from her siblings.

As Ivie rushed to catch up, he just glanced to the side at her thanks, before looking ahead once more to their target. As the group moved across the bend, the ledge of the rock became clear, and the light form of their mother stood stark against the blue sky. He paused a moment and looked to his sister and back at Vit before letting out a soft sigh.
"Your welcome," He smiled, before glancing towards the dark female once more, "Vit...I thought you were in a hurry..." All at once, he boyishly smirked to his sister, clearly teasing her and trying to get her to catch the bait. Maybe she would, maybe she would brush him off, but it didn't matter much. All he wanted to do was stop the tension that was growing in the young family around him.

With a small shrug the smallest of the three quickened her pace, running at a speed that was quite surprising for her own clumsy form. She could see Palesa now waiting for them atop of Priderock and knew that they were soon going to find out why they had been summoned.
Curiosity got the better of her and forgetting her siblings, she made her way over to the pile of rocks which was the last obstacle before she reached the level her mother was on.
"Oof!" She hit the brakes a little too slow and stubbed her nose against the rock, yet not letting that phase her she began her small climb, her body making the normally easy climb look a little more difficult than it should. Then finally dragging herself up onto the top level she opened her jaws and gave loud mewing sound.
"Mother, mother I'm here!" Then with that said she trotted over to where the adult lioness waited, eyes sparkling and head held high.

Vit gave her brother a rather chilly glance before stating simply "I never hurry." and with a dark smirk bounding into a run. "Doesn't mean I can't beat you to mother though." And with that she charged ahead towards the pastel green form of her mother, smirking at Ivie's figure ahead of her as she made her way up the rock. Vitashki's own progress was as awkward as that of most cubs but she did it with a deathly glare on her face as though just daring anyone to mention this fact.
She didn't let her mother know she was present by voice, simply made her way over and gave her an amiable nudge with her nose before doubling back and sitting down.

Palesa turned at the first mewing of her youngest, turning fully as the meat was hidden behind her. As soon as she was about to open her maw, her eldest appeared as well, and she couldn't help but close her maw and settle with a smile. Letting the blue cub nudge her, she just moved closer and settled on her stomache, pulling Vit over first to her paws and gently lapping the fur.
"Hello darlings," Her soft voice said pleasently, cleaning the pelt of her eldest as she glanced over to her youngest, "Where would your brother be?"
As soon as she said that, Kikore jumped up the last step, not really in the mood to race with his sister, or more like he just wanted her to win and not be so cold to him. Scampering up to where Ivie settled, he just glanced to her before smiling brightly.
"Hello momma!" Moving to his belly, he had his ears perked and his soft amber eyes filled with contentment at the idea of learning all he could from his role model.

A purr rumbled deep from within Ivie's chest as she moved tentatively forward, sitting a short distance from where Palesa sat. She was excited about the prospect of learning something new, especially as she'd walked all the way to get here.
"Are yah going to teach us somethin' today mother?" She questioned, watching as her brother and sister gathered too. She paused, smiling at both of them, obviously unphased by the little falling out that had occured only moments ago.
Arguments happened but they always fixed themselves so she didn't see the point on dwelling on them any longer than necessary. "We all got here as soon as we could!"

Vitashki feigned displeasure at her enforced bath for a bit before giving in and sat, looking dignified -or at least as dignified as it was possible to look while being groomed. She watched her brother and sister settle down but didn't way anything for now, almost always quiet and obedient in the presence of her mother. She was rebellious but at the same time knew to repect authority.
Smirking she said almost playfully "We'd probably have got here quicker if Kikore hadn't caused a fuss."
