Hokay, then.

I'm in the mood to draw non-humany goodness.
So I'm drawing a catfish.
As in, half-cat, half-fish.
S'gonna be fun. : D

But, because I very much want it to come out right,
I'm going to be updating this little thready throughout the day.

So, like, right now I only have half of the lineart done.
In half in hour, I'll update, and /all/ the lineart will be done.
After that, maybe it'll update and all the base colors will be one it.
And so on, and so forth.

(This also has the added bonus of making it so that I can't just quit.
I have the thread up, so I'm darn well gonna finish the picture.
xd )

What a cool idea. XD heart

So far it looks quite good. The left (our right) side of the cat's face looks a bit wonky... but I dunno how I'd suggest to fix it. Maybe add more of an eye brow shape above the eye?

I added a little fat-line to the side of his face, to kind of mark where it off, and I'm going to see about fattening up his left ear-ridge.
Hopefully that'll help a bit. ^^

Ahk.
The tail isn't being cooperative in the least.
I keep trying to make it smoothly transition into something fish-like, but all I can seem to get is an uneven rough with, like, dolphin skin.
Or something like that.

I think I just fixed the transition issues.
Maybe.
But at the very least I added a bit more definition and.. I'm done?

I think that the skin could be a little more... fish-like. I like the way that it changed from fur to smooth nicely, but it seems that, rather than change the skin slowly, you could find some combination between the two. If that, possible, that is.

I know that catfish have no scales, so you can't have furry scales, but I'm not good with drawing art. I can imagine what the comprimise would look like, but that's where my skill ends. I'm into 3D art, so exactly how to cleanly mix the two skin types might not even be possible. I'm not sure.

Nevertheless, I think it's an excellent picture.

I sent out a call for help among my real-life buddies about just how I might fix that.
It's really bugging me, but...

Maybe cat-fish pattern?
I dunno.

It's like there's some key fishy-anatomy that I'm missing out on. xd

Thank you so much for pointing that out. It might just turn out being the extra angle I need to tweak it. (:
