I think the Australia Day long weekend is my favourite! Mainly because a very cool radio station we have here has a countdown of the top 100 songs of the year as voted by listeners. Hottest 100 barbeques are the best! It's such an awesome, cruisy day with fab music.

My absolute favorite is Halloween. As a kid, who doesn't like candy, and seeing how you can get massive amounts of it for free, what's not to love?
For adults, it's even better. Halloween costume parties are the best! Guys dress up however they want, and girls try to turn the most mundane thing in the world into the sexiest costume idea ever.
Viva!

I absolsutely adore Thanksgiving. The FOOD! Oh my gosh the food! That and I like the premise of the holiday (well it's supposed to be) being simple and enjoying good times with the ones you love and being thankful for the positives.

I love all holidays, but my absolute fave is Halloween, Devil's Night, Samhain...what ever it is called. I will post info about it later. But the reason I love it so much is all the costumes and celebrating, it is a wonderful beginning to the fall holidays.

The word itself, "Halloween," actually has its origins in the Catholic Church. It comes from a contracted corruption of All Hallows Eve. November 1, "All Hollows Day" (or "All Saints Day"), is a Catholic day of observance in honor of saints. But, in the 5th century BC, in Celtic Ireland, summer officially ended on October 31. The holiday was called Samhain (sow-en), the Celtic New year.

My first favorite would be Thanksgiving. I love mashed potatoes and turkey smile
My second favorite would be Halloween. I'm not big on the candy anymore, but I love to see people dress up - and I love to see how creative people can be.
