Hihihihihihihi. I visited the church I went to a year ago, and took some more photos, this time with 4x5. I really like how it turned out, although the colors in the web version are blocky. Please please please tell me what you think.

wahmbulance Update, below's a self-portrait by the river, clicking leads to a bigger version. Hope you like.

I love the scenery, it's really beautiful-capturing that small ray of sunlight poking through the window. I like the composition too, you have a sense of placement and distance, the large chunks of debris stand out well.

Although I must say I really don't like the person intruding in on the photo, she looks out of place and she isn't all that detailed and her skin tone looks way off. I just don't like her being there. Maybe because I like the scenery so much it to me is an interuption.... But I think thats a personal thing yaknow, I don't think its a technically unsound thing or anything, its just an extremely personal opinion of mine so don't take this bit here too much into account.

The composition is very interesting... I would love to see what that entire room looked like. The lighting is awesome, especially how it hits perfectly on her face. It would have been cool though, if she was wearing a skirt that went to the floor or some kind of period costume. The room takes you to another time and place, but she doesn't entirely fit in with everything else.

Hey! Thanks so much for the criticism. I think I understand what you all are saying about the scenery being too, scenic? I sort of like where it went though, I dunno. With that said, she does look completely our of place, but I imagined her sort of floating there, its strange. This was all shot in an abandoned church in Chicago, and I found it really difficult to capture the room with the lens I was using.

No, its using the tilts and swings of a 4x5 camera. Tilt! Swing! Yay! Basically when you tilt the lens and not the film, it causes some parts of the image to be more in focus than others, because some parts of the film are closer to the lens and some are farther. It's really cool, I borrowed my friends camera to do it.
