Tifa, from FFVII. And do I really need to say why? She's just amazing. And she's a brilliant fighter too, especially in the first part of the fight against Loz.
Otherwise, I'd probably say Yuffie. I know some people find her as annoying as hell, but I really like her.
Plus she has the advantage of being the only other main FFVII character who isn't male or dead (and neither of those really appeal to me much).
I haven't played any other FF games though, so maybe I'd change my mind after I played different games.

oh i would probably like to be... Yuffie (i'm exactly like her irl. always the impulsive one xd ). mainly because she & vinneh make such a good couple. XP

Rinoa from FFVIII. I actually can't stand her. She's one of my least favorite FF characters (if not my absolute least favorite). But being with Squall is reason enough for me to want to be her. whee

Kadaj. To me, determination is key to personality. Those who will not lose it all for what they want do not rightfully deserve what they want. Kadaj shows that he would destroy the world for his Reunion with Mother. Plus his calm demeanor kicks a**, making it hard to break his bearing.

I would have to be either Kadaj or Vincent.
Vincent because he is mysterious, collected and dark. Just incredibly deep and makes you think about things.
Also the little ditty that he is the hot s**t in the looks department.
And Kadaj purely because he's an arrogant little b*****d - just like me in RL. ^^
