Certainly not that old of a series, but definitely one of Watase-sensei's great short works ^^ Only three volumes long Appare Jipangu takes place during the Edo Period in Japan. It's definitely light and somewhat upbeat compared to say, Ayashi no Ceres. Certainly another work of Watase-sensei's that is a must read. Share your thoughts and feelings on this series here!

Hun, this is a thread about Appare Jipangu, not Fushigi Yuugi ^^;;; jealousghost:: The story is about Yusura who is found as a baby under a cherry tree with a mysterious staff. That staff, the Kongoumaru, is Yusura's best friend basically. When we get to the beginning of the actual story Yusura calls herself a "hikesha" (one who makes sadness disappear) and kinda defends the innocent. When she meets Samon in the middle of a fight her life changes forever >^^< Lovely story! Three vlolumes but so worth it.

Sounds great! I don't suppose it's available in the US? I read hiragana and katakana but it's a pain.

I've read this a bit off of scanlations, and it looks like a pretty interesting series. I like Yusura and Samon so far, and I like the plot ^-^

Naiiki Minomoto Know any English sites for these wonderful books? 3nodding You can get scanlations of this awesome 3 book series from Watase's Sorai. If you can't get them there, I can email them to you by zip. They're big files, though. Like 10mb.
