It had been a few days since his first meeting with Mosi, and Kikore was already pushed out of the den by his mother to find the dark girl. Of course, being one so young, it was strange to be on his own, but he had gotten good instructions on where to go, and where not to go. Not one to disobay, he kept to his path set out, and moved down the steps of Pride Rock and towards the watering hole. Many other adults were out and wandering, so as he moved he made sure to avoid, his pelt helping slightly in hiding near the grasses.

"Mosi..." He hissed in a whisper, looking around the watering hole for the dark juve, "...are you here?" He missed playing with her, missed acting like a cub and being with someone outside of his family. Vit was too strong to play with, she always hurt him, and Ivie seemed to not like playing and wrestling, though he had no clue why.

When it became clear that the dark juve was no where in sight, Kikore just padded to the waters edge and settled in the shallows, enjoying the cooling effect as he waited paitently for his friend to come around.

The little golden cub was just now coming back with a meeting with friend of his. He was lucky that there was a watering hole between the Wild Dog's den and Pride Rock. Ger's throat was dry and he yearned for something to drink. He wanted to get back and play with Trina again, perhaps he'll forgive him for taking her to the Elephant Graveyard....even though she insisted on going. But he was the male, he should have been more careful. Sometimes thinking about the female cub sort of made him feel funny.

"I hope Mom's not worried about me..." the Pride Lander said to himself as he walked down the dirt path. Jhazara was probably worried sick over him. She was his only family he had and him being her only son. If it were not for his friends, he would be dead right now. Wandering around without an adult was pretty much dangerous.

Approaching the watering hole, Ger noticed something moving around near the shallow end of the resivior. It's coat was similar to that of the vegitation so it was sort of difficult to see what it was. Being a curious cat he wanted to know what it was. Being a cub, he wanted to play with it. Ger discreetly snuck into the tall grass that lined the dirt path and quietly circled to the other creature.

Curiousity killed the cat....however, this was a lion.

Shifting until he was settled on his belly, Kikore found himself starring at the wrinkled reflection of the water, his eyes settling on his own form while he got used to just what he looked like. Sure, he had seen himself dozens of times before, every day having ventured to the water's edge, but never had he actually taken the chance to really look at his form, to look at every feature and dye of his pelt and body.

Taking a second, he mostly starred at his face, amber eyes just blinking steadily as his chest rised and fell at each breath. The eyes, he noted, were just as his fathers, strong and filled with youth as well as emotion. He could read himself in those eyes, read every secret that was in his mind, though there wern't that many. Soon enough, he followed the dark, mysterious lines down his maw, lines that came from neither his mother nor his father, and settled on the blue tinted nose. The features were unmistakeable, they were the markings of no one else. Though his eyes were from his father, the markings were mysterious, and unknown.

Shifting, he moved to stand, before he caught the flicker behind him in the water's edge, and turned sharply to look at all of the grasses. The winds were dead that day, so the movement was clear, and he narrowed his eyes before catching an ounce of bravery. Bravery would soon fill his form, but now it was small, but it was still there.

"Show yourself!" He shouted, before his ears flattened at the annoyed grumbles of most of the adults. They remembered him and his siblings, so quickly, he lowered his tone to a soft conversing one and continued, "I know you are there..."

A chuckle emitted from the grass as Ger pushed his head out with a idiotic grin on his maw. "I'll some more practice with that won't I?" a retorical question. Completely revealing himself, he saw that what he saw before was a lion cub. Ger cocked a brow, I've never seen this one before? Wonder who he is?

Sitting himself down, the lion cub stared at the green hued feline. "Heh, so where ya from?" he asked. Just recently being told of the Mistweavers and Firekin, then meeting Kimaji of the pride in the forest, it was possible this one was from elsewhere. Maybe not, but it's still a possibility. Ger's heart paced a bit, "Are you from Firekin!?" he shouted. Ever since Mufasa told him of the pride, he was always curious of it.

He jumped to his feet and jumped around the lion cub, "Are ya?" he asked again, "Name's Ger from Pride Rock."

Shifting unconfortably, he just looked at the other cub, the elder cub, with slight curiousity. The question was arised, and Kikore could only look to his paws as the water dripped from his pelt and down his legs. It soon got annoying to him, so he inched to the surface and tried to pose no threat to the other cub in front of him.

When Ger sat down, Kikore raised his eyes and studied the simplistic pelt of the other, finding his fasination of all the colors of the pride getting the best of him. His tail brushed the ground, the only white color of his pelt getting slightly dirty as he let the sun dry his pelt.

"I'm from-" He was cut off from his explination at the boy's jumpings, and his ramblings of some sort of fire creatures that Kikore had no clue about. Trying to get words in, he felt foolish to interupting the older male, and just swallowed his nervousness away.

"I'm Kikore'ruia," He said polietly, "I live with my mother and father on Pride Rock...what's a Firekin?" He felt heat brush his cheeks at the question.

"Oh, you are a Pride Lander." he said, "oh well." Ger shrugged. Ger let out a soft sigh, Darn, I was really hoping too... he thought. The cub's fur was so unique, Ger's teal eyes have never seen something like it before.

He paused with Kikore's question. "Firekin is a pride that live in the desert." he recalled, "Mufasa said that they are mean, evil, ruthless..." he named off adjectives that Mufasa told him as he counted off his paw's, "coniving, brutal, maleviolent, and bad lions." he said with such euthusiam....sort made it feel like he didn't even know what those words were. "He told me that no one should go there, too." but what he didn't say was that he was going to go there someday when he was older.

"So what's ya name and what are ya doin' out here?" Ger asked, now standing in the shallow end of the water, paws wet. "What, couldn't find anyone around the den to play with?"

Seeing the shrug, Kikore felt a little offended by the cub, but decided a moment later not to take it completly to heart. Instead, he just kept his amber eyes on the older cub and held his tongue, letting the boy speak and being respectable as much as he could. When his questions were being answer, he just nodded and smiled lightly, before coughing a bit.

"I told you, my name is Kikore'ruia...my father named me after his dreams...and I am waiting for a friend to come, she is my best friend and we were going to play again sometime on our own, without our parents. She is nice to me even though she is a lot older..." As he spoke of Mosi, he laughed lightly at their little wrestling, before his smile fell.

"You didn't happen to see a dark black female around here, did you?"
PostPosted: Sun Jul 16, 2006 10:27 am

"Huh." he laughed, "What's yer name again?" he grinned, "Aw, I'm on kidding, Kiko." Mosi? Wasn't that the cub that Ezeoha talked about often? Strange, probably the same one since there is only one Mosi that he knew of that was at Pride Rock. "Nope, I haven't seen her. I was just with a wild dog and I doubt that she was around him." he said thinking back, now sitting in the water. "Did you check Pride Rock? Perhaps she's with her parents or something."

Ger paused and looked down at this relfection. He saw his golden fur and his teal eyes. Where had he inherted these from? His mothers had markings, why didn't he? She had darker fur, why didn't he? All he knew was that none of her marks or fur came to him, where did he get it from!? She might not even be my mother... he growled down at his reflection, W-why and am I thinking like this...? She's my mother, she's all I got...

His teal eyes trailed up to Kikore. His soft green fur and his amber eyes. He had a father, that is what he was mostly jealous of. What it would feel like to have a big, strong male around to protect and defend. To have to look up to and to talk to. "It must be great to have a father....huh?" Ger's voice trailed off.

"Mosi doesn't live on Pride Rock..." Kikore murmered softly, missing the little nickname he was dubbed before his ears flickered. Watching silently as the other became just as distracted as he, Kikore took a soft breath before exhaling and clearing his throat. Though it was soft, it seemed to be timed just right, for as he finished, the interesting teal eyes caught with his own, and he was forced to look away.

"Father...I guess...he is more like a best friend than a protective figure...mother puts up with him until he starts snoring..." Looking down still, he realized what he just said, and snapped his eyes up, "Though...I wouldn't have it any other way, I like seeing my father as my best friend, makes it easier to talk to him, and he loves to play." Kikore thought of all the games that Na-Be taught him, and how his mother just worked on his mentality why his father helped his childhood flourish.

Looking to Ger, Kikore suddenly got the feeling that the other had no father, though wisely kept his maw shut on the matter, and just shifted his weight over his paws.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to darken things." he said with a weak smile. "Sorry, Kikore." he looked down at his reflection again, watching it ripple when he moved his paw. The image blurred away and so did he. Until the day comes, Ger could only dream of his father or who he might be.

"So, it would seem that Mosi isn't around here, now what are ya goin' to do?" he asked, movin' around in the water. His tail swung slowly through the water creating ripples in its wake. He was standing in the animals' drinking water....but he didn't really care.

Thinking over the question carefully, Kikore took a deep breath and looked out into the open, his eyes fading as they calculated his next move. Mosi told him that she didn't live at the rock, at least she seemed unfamiliar enough, so he suddenly got the urge to head out and towards the feilds, wanting to see his friend and play the games she taught him once more.

"I really would like to go look for her, she said she would teach me some more games to play again...games my sisters never like to play and some I never knew about before..." Smiling at that, he stepped back a foot or so so he could look at Ger, keeping silent for he had no notion what to say next.

Ger smiled, forgetting his reflection. "Alright then, how about I go back to Pride Rock and if I see her I'll send her your way, alright?" he asked. After a talk with her myself of course. Wonder what's so special about this female? He stepped out of the water, now making his paws muddy brown. "The fields right?" He added, wanting to confirm what the green cub said. He sat himself down in front of him. Kikore was just about the same height, but Ger was still awe struck by his colors. He even had a sister too. Ger smirked and got to his feet.

"Hey Kikore, thanks for the talk." he grinned happily and started down the dirt path to Pride Rock.

Watching the cub go, Kikore kept silent to himself for a long moment, just blinking at the weird dismissal before shruging it off and turning away. It would all clear up in time, but for now, the cub had a friend to find, and hopefully another game to learn. Spinning to the side, he trotted out of the waters, and scurred around all of the adults. Hopefully, with time, he would find his friend who's whereabouts he had no clue.
