Gunter Ernst vs. Genis Sage

FIGHT!
PostPosted: Sat Jul 15, 2006 5:41 pm

The crowd grew restless...

A slight mumble had devoloped from boredom amoungst them, speaking of the other matches they had seen.

Suddenly, the doors on one end of the arena began opening, sending a roar of excitment through the crowd, as what appeared to be a small child walked forward.

He had silver, spikey hair that stuck out everywhere, and dark blue eyes that tried to hide his excitment, pale skin, and mistical blue and grey short sleeved shirt and shorts, as he walked in, letting his special ability spread out, invisable, and fill the entire arena.

He smirked up at the Skybox, where a woman who looked remarkably similar sat, waving back at him, smiling. She spoke to herself as the boy's 5 foot figure began doing streaches as he prepared.

"...Good luck Genis..."

The other pair of gates opened and out bestrode a giant amongst men. Golden armor and gems caught the light in a dazzling display of majesty, it was nothing short of breathe taking to see such a figure live and breathe. A sculpted face, marred by scars that spoke of hard fought battles, all won in their own brutal fashion. It would appear that life was short lived for anyone who challenged this man, as he pounded their skulls to little more then sacks of bone, blood, and brain. A small mohawk topped his otherwise hairless head, black eyes to match his black hair; face set in a stern frown. He turned his gaze about the stands, hearing the cheers before setting his enhanced eyes on the would-be opponent. His gauntlet tightened on the massive pole of his halberd. It was bad enough he was subjugated to such a disspiriting role, but the fact he was pitted against a child disgusted him.

His eyes scanned the boys features, and he bit back the taste of bile in his mouth.
Eldar! His mind hissed with rage. What would such vile Xenos be doing here? Especially a child by comparison to a normal human. Sadly for his souless opponent Gunter would not fall for that childish guise, he knew full well what he was fighting now. Gunters free hand suddenly pulled his helmet up from his waist and locked it into place atop his head. There was a hiss as the enivorment inside of his suit was stabilized. "Halo of the Emperor," His voice boomed inside his helmet, the words heard only by the Artificer armors Machine Spirit. An instant after the words had left his mouth, a radiant glow of red and yellow engulfed his body. Covering him from head to toe, but not his halberd. Once this was done, about half way up his oblong helmet was a floating, blazing white halo.

In a very muscle-memorized movement, Gunter twisted his body towards the body and took aim. "
Die Xenos scum!" His declared in a his deep voice which resonated everything in the arena, only to be accompanied by the deafening sound of a three round burst of Bolter rounds. This was of course after his auspecs had locked onto the boy and corrected his stance ever so slightly. The bolt rounds would close the distance in very little time indeed, each propelled by a small rocket on the back. Once impacting a target, any target at all they would detonate in a blast of very deadly explosives. He already knew that the third round would probably be a little wide, while the other two were aimed for the Xenoses torso. With the bolt rounds fired, Gunter began to charge at the boy; just incase he wasn't incinerated from his Holy Bolters rounds.

Suddenly, just as the bullets were fired a massive wall of sand shot up from the ground, the bullets/rockets being stopped by the amazingly dense wall of sand. Upon exploding, the heat would melt the wall of sand into a wall of glass, which promtly shattered and then seemed to float in the air like a shiny mist. Then, the shards shot forward, the air around every single shard adjusting, making them razor sharp. As well, an odd multicolored light was thinly around the edges of the shards, although it could've just been a trick of the light.

The shards charged forward in a massive hailstorm of glass, raining down upon Gunter like...well, rain, shooting down upon Gunter's entire side of the battlefeild. Meanwhile, Genis was unharmed, and didn't even seem to care what was going on as he streached his muscles, then stood up straight, looking at the glass raining down upon Gunter, then shrugged.

He reached around to his back pocket and pulled out a...kendama. Oh, but it was no ordinary kendama.

For an explanation of a basic Kendama just go to Wikipedia. The ball part of the kndama is made of an odd material that is a bright silver in color, and looks alot like a solid steel ball, except it's very smooth and warm to the touch. The spike on the top of the hammer-shaped part of the kendama looks to be made of a mix of all the gems of the Summon Spirits in the land of Symphonia. The entire hammer, except the spike, was a solid steel colored a matte black, with the Cruxis symbol of two rainbow wings crossed on the bottom of the grip.

He began playing with the kendama, seemingly concentrating heavily upon it as the glass shards rained down upon Gunter.

There was a barking laugh that was released from Gunters helmet, he was laughing at such a futile attempt to harm him. Before the glass even came close to touching him, they were merely stopped or crushed themselves to dust from a field of energy around his body. Glass? What sort of foolish bid for time was that? As well as sand, he was no fool and he rightly expected such sorcery to be met in this match, but Gunter had killed much worse. Still in his charge, not even giving any mind to the glass any longer, he barreled towards his opponent with the sort of speed gifted to those much smaller then him. At his pace, the distance would be closed in mere seconds and then the slaughter would begin upon the Xenos, but until that time he had a few more presents for his opponent.

Noticing that just about all the sand on the ground of the arena was expended from his attack, and was such a massive waste indeed. Gunter had taken into account that he would not have to worry about walls of sand from appearing again for a while more. The distance between the two was quickly dissapearing with each giant stride he was making with the power armored legs. Bolter rounds started to spit their righteous destruction towards the Xenos, this time he held the odd shaped trigger down. Letting easily seven or eight of the huge .75 caliber slugs sail through the air by their rockets. "
Death is upon you!" Gunter cried out over the sound of each bolt round being expended from his clip, ammo was something he didn't need to worry about. Hell as of now the marine was unsure if their was anything he needed to be warry of, but letting his guard down was not the Space Marine way; therefore he would keep his wits about him.

Well...This was over quickly.

The multicolored light was, of course, Mana, the light of existance and all life. The mana cut through his energy feild by simply absorbing it as it went through it, converting the energy signature to, of course, Genis'. The mana would cut through his armor with extreme ease, despite it's hardness, as well as any elemental propertes it had would simply go under the Mana's control, since elements were made BY Mana. The Mana wasn't a part directly of the glass, but Genis wrapped it around the glass as a diversion, and the bits of Mana would continue forward as normally, despite the glass imploding/stopping.

The Mana would rip through his opponets body heavily, the first few shots would go through his heart and lungs, then from there on the other major organs would be hit...not that they mattered. He would, in the end, end up looking like ground beef with bits of metal in it.

This would all happen long before his opponet was anywhere near Genis, who was still playing with his Kendama. Despite this, just in case his opponet still managed to open fire upon Genis before being torn to peices by the Mana, which was pretty much indefinate now, Genis seemed to blur for a moment, followed by 7 or 8 explosions at the back of the areana, a great distance away from Genis, who was still playing with the Kendama...

...Oh well, Another enemy slaughtered...

Like a hot knife through butter...

The shield held firm, eeven though the child had attempted to use mana on it he was incredibly unlearned in exactly what the shield could stop. Warp spawned power of Chaos projected throughj psykers that worked in very much the same way could be stopped with his Iron Halo so it was not that hard of a task for the forgotten technologies to toss back the inhuman salvo. What truley made this humorous was that Gunter wasn't even aware of what the child had attemped. So, the mana was merely denied and knocked away by the Halo's effect as the glass continued to shatter about him, as he charged the imbicile. The red eyes of his helmet glew as the targetting array on his Xenos opponent, unlike his enhanced organic eyes; escaping electronics is another thing entirely.

Each foot fall cracked the stone under his feet, the power armor pumped with his legs up and down to match the movements he was making inside of it. Gunter witnessed the boy move at an incredible fast rate, but nothing he couldn't follow with his highly advanced helmet. The boy was trying to escape the reach and speed of his bolter rounds and his eyes, sadly he would be unable to do either. After the boy had dodged two of his rounds, Gunters targetting systems compensated for the movement and slowed down the feed to his helmet momentarily. This allowed for him to guess the movements of his opponent and fire at where he would be. While at the same time he fired each round in not a burst, but in a single shot fashion for a different part of his body, not just his torso. Two for the torso after the initial two, one for the groin and one for the middle of the Eldars collar bone. Gunter knew that this burst of fire would most likely tear apart of the body of his prey to the point of incineration. What a fool to pay so much attention on the toy of a weapon in his vile hands to care for the lumbering marine who had more tricks up his sleeve then accounted for.

Mistakes in battle most often are fatal, but his childlike foe had made to many already. If somehow he knew that Gunter was alive and the rounds didn't kill him from his stupidity of not bothering to look. Then a blue radience would flow from the head of his halberd as the last round of the eight left the barrel. Enter stage two of combat: Close-combat with melee weapons. And Gunter just so happened to be packed a Power weapon capability built into his cherished weapon of the Emperors will being done. It was no wonder the Eldar were so few now, their decadent and over arrogant ways had doomed them. To this boy-xenos Gunter was fighting; he was the doom.

Already he was close enough to strike a most henious series of blows to the flesh of his opponent. The power weapon, still alight, blurred the air about it, with his movements. The insainely advanced suit of armor and Gunters own super human reflexes, made a mockery of those normal humans. He was not quite human anymore, he was a Space Marine made in the image of the Emperor who rested in the Golden Throne. With a backward swipe of his left arm; Gunter struck with a most deadly attack. It would easily lop whatever remained of the boy from his bolt rounds, in half if not worse.

((Despite the fact I don't agree with Gunter's defence, I have no choice but to reply, or I'll be DQ'd.))

Genis was paying as much attention as needed. Hell, he didn't need to use any sense but his current one, the one that dected the disturbance of Mana in the area. Genis, of course, had a good counter for everything.

He had dodged the first two bullets, and his opponet appeared to be retargeting him with the gun. Genis used his superiour elemental power to make the air above and below the barrel of the gun press in with tremendous force. This would cause the barrel of the gun to collapse inward as his opponet fired, which would cause a big enough explosion if it was a normal bullet, but this was a gun loaded with explosive bullets. The first bullet exploding would set off the rest, causing a heavy explosion that sent Genis slightly off balance from the force, but not by much.

Just to elaborate, it doesn't take much of a fault in the barrel to cause this effect. Just a slight inward dent on the barrel would cause a gun to backfire. Genis had closed off the gun entirely, meaning that the effect would fully backfire on Gunter.

All this would most likely at least prevent Gunter's attack, if not destroy him. But just in case...

Genis suddenly stepped back several feet in the blink of an eye, Gunter's attack missing and cutting only air. Genis concentrated upon the air around Gunter and made it form into invisable orbs of air that suddenly shot forward at Gunter with amazing speed, if it hit would be the force of a 18 wheeler truck slamming into you. Add this together with the fact that there are several coming from all directions, and Gunter had a problem. Plus, Genis was out of his range, as well as Gunter lacked any particularly speedy or long range weapons.

Or at least, from what Genis could see.
