Ok, so I started a new character two days ago, and I keep drawing her. Heres the one I need help on;
Orignal, before advice. Finished Sketch Inked out.
*EDITED

I drew it, and Im OK happy with the torso down, but.. The arms. WHAT DO I DO WITH THE ARMS? They are so awkward, but I'm completely blank right now. So, I need help with what I should do with the arms, and theres something else thats just wrong about it.
It would really help it some people would do draw overs, or give me advice on it.
And I know its not finished or anything, dont mind the bones I drew first, heh.
Thanks in advanced. (:

Okay, I did a major draw-over for you. XD I hope you don't mind if I added a few things you didn't really want drawn over... but in all honesty, I just added 'em 'cause I think it'd make a nicer looking finished project. Anyway! I think the two major problems that made the arms look a bit weird were: a) the shoulder are too high and rigid (also causing the neck to look very stubby) b) they're a bit too long, especially compared to the legs. So if you fix those two things up, the arms should be fine. :3 A few other things I added: -Her mouth looked a bit too low compared to where her chin is. Raising the nose and mouth slightly would make it look a bit more anatomically correct. :3 -Her boobs didn't really look like female boobs... more like moobs. That is, man-boobs. So a bit more roundness wouldn't hurt. wink -I think the biggest issue in the picture was not the arms, but the shape of the legs. They get way too thin at the knee, and the calves jut out in a way that no women's calves ever would. XD I drew a little diagram on the side to give you an idea of how to make them look a bit more feminine. Hope that helps out! biggrin

I agree with just about everything Tawney put. Except the shoulders. I thought you were trying to make it look as if she were raising them, perhaps? I don't know. That's what it came across as to me. Then again, I look at the arms again, and the one that is straight and pointed downwards looks to be the right length... The other one, though, is too long.

I've been lacking artistic abilties lately, and I cant get any proportions right and I dunno whats wrong with me. I'll fix it up Now and add an edited version sometime tonight. Thanks, you really helped me.

Yah I just looked in the window, reached my hand by my head like I drew in the photo, and compared it, and I definately drew it a bit too long. I knew it was scrawny arm, I was planning to fix it, but I thought 'whatever they'll point it out so I dont forget to later (:'

I'll fix it up Now and add an edited version sometime tonight. Thanks, you really helped me. Oh pff, there's nothing wrong with you. It takes a lot of practice to get proportions right. I mean, I still have a lot of trouble with it too. 3nodding You should try out the programs I recommended in the Links sticky... the Virtual Figure Drawing things. They're super helpful for getting a good grasp of proportions, and also really good for coming up references for realistic poses. biggrin

And theres where I got the hand position (which was a bad pose) but my friend ashleigh was all "JUST DRAW THAT ONE" But I'll try out more with it. Because I can't always just compare my drawings to my own body, and how it works. 'cause my knees are messed up, and my hands are tiny. o_o
Well I edited it, and posted, what do you think about that? Once I get a new pen, I'll start inking everything then color.

And then I look at my body and Im like "HAHA" My body isnt at all what I try to draw, I wish I just had someone to pay to sit next to me at all times incase I wanted to draw, and then I could make them go in a pose.

either her head is rather large, or her shoulders are too small. Perhaps make the nake a bit thicker (not so much that its manly hahaha). And ah, yes, the arms. Nasty little blighters to position, aren't they? Well, her right arm looks a bit robotic, maybe bring it down to where its closer to her body, and they could use smoother lines.
her lower body...her right knee is bent too outwards for the direction her upper body is facing (hey, good turnout hahaha), and she could use a little more thickness on her thighs. Also, she looks as if she's about to fall over in that position (unless of course, that's how you want it)
