Today, Syd Barrett, the lead singer and guitar player of Pink Floyd, died.
After the first album he was sent to a mental institution and stopped recording with the band as he had taken so many drugs (primarily LSD) and developed Diabetes that grew at a shocking rate because of his drug use, and drained of life emotionally and physically, Syd Barrett finally died at the age of 60.
I don't pretend to be a huge Pink Floyd fan, I only have listened to like four of their albums and only loved two. This isin't as personel to me as it was when revering the memory of John Lennon. I would however like his memory to be appreciated and remembered here for the amazing musician that he was.
Thank you.
