Character Info. Name: Katrina Rose Marina Pronounced: Kah-tree-na Row-z Ma-reen-na Nationality: 100% American Religion: pagan Age: 19 Height: 5'0 Weight: 125lb Place of Birth: america where she lived: by herself in a small cabin Birthdate: november 22, 1986 Hair: honeydew brown, about mid-back length Eyes: crystal blue Build: thin, light muscle build Occupation: herbist Likes: plants of any kind, almost any kind of weather, small animals, reading, drawing, listening to music ((mostly classical and rock, some country)), nag champa ((an incense which she loves to burn)). LOVES horses Dislikes: tornados, very assertive people ((she doesn't dislike them, just intimidated)), people that kill plants/animals for no reason, heavymetal music, rap, etc. Background: Katrina was born on November 22, 1986 on a cool autumn day. Her mother Marie, her Father Daniel, and grandmother Rose lived out in the country; only a few miles away from a town. They had a few farm animals, a vast wheat field and a large garden or herbs and vegitables. Daniel mended the fields while her mother looked after the house and animals, and Rose took care of the garden. Katrina loved to help her grandmother in the garden, helping pull weeds and learning how to properly cut herbs and how to hang them to dry. When Katrina was about 6 years old Rose opened up a shop in town for herbal remedies. Her grandmother strongly believed that natural plants could cure almost anything, rather than the chemicals a doctor perscribes. Katrina was always a well mannered child, shy and quiet never complaining or acting like other children did. She didn't get along with other children so her mother began to home school her and after her homework was finished Katrina would help her grandmother out at the shop. She learned all sorts of intresting plants and uses over the years becoming closer to her grandmother than she was to her parents. When Katrina was 17 she noticed her grandmother was moving slower and often forgetting small details but she shruged it off figuring her grandmother needed to rest more. But not too long after her grandmother passed away in her sleep, leaving Katrina feeling alone and developed a case of depression. Not wanting to work in the garden or work in the shop, nothing but sit in her room read her herb books and talk to the horses while grooming them. During this time she became very close to the horses and developed a deep bond with them. Her parents were worried after a few months of Katrina's actions and went to see a psychiatrist about their daughter's grief. He said to bring her to him for evaluation. After evaluating Katrina the psychiatrist told the parents about a facility that would help her move on with her life. Personality: Katrina is a very shy person, quiet and polite. But after getting to know her after a while you realize what a bright young woman she is. She becomes more open and assertive once you become friends with her but sometimes she still gets alittle shy. She's never had a boyfriend or even a remotely close friend who was boy. She's never had many friends because of how busy she was maintaining her home and buisness. One of her favorite things to do while mending the garden was to listen to classical and rock music. She's also very naive... very gulliable Skills: Herbalore, gardening, can remember things fairly well, and gets along with small animals like rabbits or ferrets. Clothes: baggy/dusty blue jean overalls with one of the straps unhooked, a black choker with a pentagram dangaling in the center, a white t-shirt, and black ankle-work books. Stuff has brought to the island: herb seeds (to trade or plant) portable (small) watering can small hand shovel and clippers a few oils and herbs into a small wooden box with a few empty bottles ((they're small))((reference of bottle size)), a small mortar and pedistal, hand carved small incense holder with perfectly sized nag champa ((300 sticks, takes up most of the box xd )), a small bamboo wand ((reference of wand)), an ameythist stone, heminite stone, a howlite stone, and a tiny jade budha deck of tarot cards discman and her favorite cds a few extra set of batteries, and a set of rechargeable batteried with charger digital camera and one of those tiny printers ((that hook up to the camera reference)) extra roll of the tiny printers film paper and ink sketch book and set of art pencils a few spell books and a herbalore book extra underwear, socks, t-shirts, short overalls, plain jean shorts, zip up hoodie, 2 pairs of jeans, and a few tank tops toothbrush, toothpaste, tweasers, shaving cream and shaver, hair brush, and some scrunchies. It seems like a lot i suppose but she fit it into 2 suitcases xd

Serum::> 60 (tauric/centar) and 58 (plant) Idea::> Brown and white horse ((maybe?)) i like the coat but the colors can be different or the coat can be different but i'd like the one in the picture. and maybe the mane be vines with flowers. This is sort of katrina's daily work clothes, baggy overalls, t-shirt, and ankle work boots, her overalls and/or t-shirt is usually dusty Maybe for when katrina is at 25% to start showing she becoming a horse is to make her pelvic bone (the two little knobs, hips) get two large bumps, and maybe her but grow alittle... i made a slightly colored version to help see where the vines are... since it looks like alot of flowers in her hair xd

*deep inhilation* ooookie!
There's a few characteristics about your character that just stick into me like a hay sliver. I accept the half japanese heritage. Despite the obvious "trend" some people like following concerning japanese characters, I'm not going to say anything mean and let it slide. Blue eyes + brown hair is also very very rare, as a side note. Especially for someone will half asian blood.
The wiccan religion is... well, a little out there. I wouldn't mind if it fit into her as a person better than just a cool thing to add on. The tragic loss of her parents is mediocre-ly creative but again, I'll let it slide. (It's pneumonia by the way, and it's not really a "sudden death" sorta illness, she'd have been sick for at least a week before her death. Maybe ellaborate a bit better?) It's also difficult for a 19 year old to own her own business and be able to pay for the bills and food. And be able to actually take care of herself. But I suppose it's possible.
The method of getting on the island is very very off, in my opinion. Bothers me more than the little itty things about her personality. It's a bit far-fetched. I'd like to see more questors with a better excuse to be chosen by the doctor besdies the fact that they are orphans. Who'd jump on an aircraft towards some remote island with people/a company she'd never heard of? Just because they're advertizing herbalistics? That's like painting a van with the word "CANDY" and having an entire schoolyard hop in. Remote island where? America has remote islands? *doesnt know much about US geography* XD;
On to the serum choice. I like the plant + animal idea! *Alec "WHOO's" in the background* though the image in my mind is a little My-Little-Pony-ish, I suppose it'd work. It'd go well with the idea of encorporating herbs or plants into who she really is deep down. The addition of a tauric serum may seem like you're shooting for the moon a little too much but I don't see why not, right?
I think I'm done o-o; XD; JUST MY OPINION *skitters*
P.S. You get points for choosing my fav horse.

Thank you for the comment smile
And i'm wiccan so i thought it'd be cool to base my quest idea off my favorite part of being wiccan, my love for nature, I was thinking maybe i could do readings for gaians or something through my IODM.
And the parental thing, i thought it'd be intresting but i think i can maybe come up with something else, like a boat accident xd or something
and the asian note, ehhh not a big deal i could do with out it, i just like the squinty eyes i gave her xd ((and side note- my older brother has brown hair + blue eyes, and my little brother has dirty blonde, almost brown hair + blue eyes... i got stuck with blonde-light brown hair... brown eyes crying ))
*glomps* yay i got two comments!

I agree with Rabid with the heritage thing, it seems like a trend now a days, but then there are a lot of just normal American's too, so it doesn't really make much of a diffrence then does it?
Its a really good contrast to the current islanders, to have someone who is so shy and inexperianced in relationships. Could be a very interesting combination!

I've just got one comment: It seems unlikely that her grandmother would have full knowledge of the Wiccan religion, considering the religion itself is only around fifty years old, and only became main stream in recent years. Maybe you could expand a bit more into that?
