Got a pressing dream that you think needs a good ol' interpretation? Feel free to post it here, and we'll give it a shot! Remember, even the small things you remember that seem meaningless could actually be really important. biggrin

Thank you much! heart Alright...onto some odd dreams of mine.

Back when I was about 10, [I'm 15 now.] I had a reoccuring dream of a monstorous tornado killing my family. It scared me, it really did. This one may not need much interpretation, however. About 2 years ago my family was coming back from the Indy 500 [I was not in the car, I don't really go for races.] and the weather was frightening out to say the least. They could have EASILY been killed by the tornadoes in the area at the time...but luckily they weren't. It sucks to be a part of Tornado Alley, yes it does.

I have had several 'prophetic dreams'. i know this is true, because at least one has happened. The other ones seem symbolic. They are complex, and disturbing (to me anyways). I will post them as soon as I get around to it... I am sure they were prophetic, because they have that unnatural feel to them. and they were extremely frightening, and bad dreams usually do not scare me.

I had what I can only hope is a nightmare last night about my church going whacky and secular... to the point of pop music being played. *shakes head.

Oh, and then, after it was over with Joanna (my priest's wife, voted most likely to NEVER actually do something like this) made me feel bad because she "worked so hard on this stuff to make it 'relevant'.">

"To see a tornado in your dream, suggests that you are experiencing some extreme emotional outbursts and temper tantrums. Is there a situation or relationship in your life that may be potentially destructive?

To dream that you are in a tornado, signifies that you are feeling overwhelmed and out of control. You will be met with a series of disappointments for the next week or so. Your plans will be filled with complications.

To see several tornadoes in your dream, represent people around you who are prone to violent outbursts and shifting mood swings. It may also symbolize a volatile situation or relationship."

(taken from a website since I'm lazy. This would be the general subconscious interpretation)

Yeah, I'd say your dreams could have been a bit precognitive like you suggest. *nods* The reoccuring theme in them reminds me of my fire dreams when I was little, which ended up saving my family. They were slightly precognitive, but I also believe they dealt with a past life, since it was a fear I was born with. Dreams can have more than one layer. heart

So I had a dream last night whose atmosphere matched the night before's EXACTLY. I don't know how connected they are, or if there is something in there I'm supposed to be getting. I don't remember it too well.

Meanwhile, I actually had a dream that I did a Tarot spread, which I've never dreamt of before, nor have I ever done one in waking life! I did it to help Sis and I make a major decision we were about to face. I mean, major, with huge consequences that would ripple out. I kept calling it an 'Oracle', though...the word 'Tarot' was never used. I started out doing a three-card spread...but someone told me: "No. Do the four-card." I nodded, and laid the fourth card. I certainly knew what I was doing in the dream, though when I woke up, I was completely clueless--I know very little of the Tarot!

Only one card had been flipped over. I'm not too sure what it was--I didn't recognize the picture. It looked like some sort of goddess' face surrounded by a lot of flowers.

So, I got to researching and asking around with people I know. 'Oracle' could refer to several things--an Oracle deck, which isn't traditional, the card 'High Priestess', or to do an Oracle...normal Tarot attempts to bounce things around with your subconscious. It's completely internal. Oracle, however, attempts to contact outside guidance, something that makes me REALLY nervous, and it did in the dream as well. But I had received permission, so I went ahead with it.

And the spread I did is literally called the "Decision Spread" for making large decisions. The card I saw turned over was in slot 1 which is 'The actions that should be taken'.

So, this dream is going to take me a while to figure out... xd

Ok. My dreams. *sighs*
There are a series of them, that relate to each other. I will label them, and place them in cronological order.

1. The castle
2. The fight in the shallows
3. The dragon
4. The ship
5. The final confrontation

I named them, to aid my memory of them, and to help distinguish them in conversation.

The Castle
I am in the courtyard of a creepy castle at night. The shadows twist and move as if they were alive. I am with a group of friends (don't know who) as well as my younger sister. We are venturing into the castle. There is a hall; I disable many traps. The shadows attack us, and we flee to the courtyard, each cowering and hiding until they let up. We gather back together, and re-enter the hall. We fight off the shadows as well as we can. (I am the apparent leader of the group) My sister strays ahead, as I shout to her to be more careful, a trap is sprung. A section of wall opens up, and she is pulled in; I see sharp objects in the hole. The wall closes on her, never to open up again. We continue our attack/ journy into the castle.

The Fight in the Shallows
I am in a fierce battle. I am the commander of a small group of soldiers. We are in a small pavilion, surrounded by waist- deep water as far as the eye can see. It is pouring down rain. We are equiped with swords and similar weapons, and no armor. There is a huge army crossing the shallows, on foot. The enemy. They attack. We fight with all we have, but there are over a thousand of them; and only about six or seven of us. We take down an enemy with every swing, but my men are starting to go down. I am surrounded, and I cannot save them. One by one they are struck down. I continue fighting with even more determination. I fight for what seems like hours, in the shallow water; surrounded by bodies and blood. More soldiers attack me, and I kill them. I kill all who attack. I am exahsted, but I killed all the enemies. I look around me at the bodies, floating in the water.

The Dragon
Again, I am fighting a battle. I am the commander of at least 35 soldiers. We have a variety of weapons: axes, swords, bows, ect. We are wearing armor this time. We are on the offensive, now. Attacking a mountain controlled by the enemy. Lots of enemy troops, also better equiped this time, led by a large red dragon. I make a plan of attack, and we move in. The battle ensues; it begins to rain heavily. We kill ten times more of them than they kill of us, but I am losing men quickly. Soon it is just me and two of my best. One dies, then the other; as I fight. The enemy is defeated too, leaving only me, and the dragon. The water level steadily rises, until it is over my head, but I climb up the mountain. The dragon circles in the air, trying to get at me. I grab a large axe that had belonged to my comrade and rush at the dragon, fury taking me over. I jumped towards it, hurtling the ax through the air. I struck it in the head, killing it.

The Ship
I am on a large ship. I am alone. There is nothing but water as far as I can see. I know that I am over land, rather than in the ocean. The rain is just stopping. I am the only living thing left on the planet. The last bird flies past, and God is standing next to me. Lightning arcs from his hand to the bird, killing it. 'It is done'. I don't know who said that. I look out accross the sea.

The Final Confrontation
I, and my two best friends (dunno who) are, and have been fighting the devil for years, and winning. I feel I always beat him. (We are in modern times now) Its getting close to 'that time'. But his agents find us, and we have a fight; in the course of the fight one friend gets killed, the other seperated from me. (I think I am in charge of the group still) I must leave the area because he found us. As I am leaving the city, I see him up on a hill. He has a black suit on, black hair; looks like a business man or a lawyer. Standing next to him was a familiar figure. My best friend. He had betrayed us. He was standing next to HIM! Pointing at me, as I fled. I hid in the tall grass, but he set it on fire, and I am crawling under the fire on the tops of the grass trying to use the smoke for cover to escape.

Comments and questions are very welcome, so fire away!

Naw, no alternative reading material in the PEWS, per se...although we have our own bookstore full of occult books. xd

And no half-time show...just half-time meditation. whee

I too had a dream a few nights ago with a tornado but it had a big ball of lightning in the center of the top. Also many random things that I did in the dream I did the next day exactly. The storm came but no tornado.

Pteriax,

These dreams interest me, if I may be allowed to examine them and ask a few questions that might help to interpret them?
In all save one you are fighting dark forces. They seem to be in control of the terrain; night, deep water (limited movement), a mountain or a hill.
Also you have allies and they fight for your cause, yet someone is always lost. (Is all that fairly accurate?)
In interpretation it is always beneficial to look at the dreams in as many ways as possible.
Try first at a personal level.
Every aspect of the dream comes from within you.
Next look at it on an external level.
Aspects of the dream (save the dreamer) come from outside influences.

Symbology in dreams (for the most part) is very personal because dreams exist in the subconscious. What means "this" to you could mean "that" to another.
What were some of the things in your dream that you feel were important?
The shadows, the castle, the swords or the water or fire. Your sister or God?
If you didn't feel they were important then it might be safe to assume they weren't the main point of your dream.

Did you have any feelings attached to some of the events, characters or places in your dream?
Anger? Sadness? Relief or a sense of victory when you won a battle?
Feelings are a big clue when you are interpreting dreams, however it is perfectly normal if no feeling came to you, some dreams happen that way, you are no less the person for it.

Look at all that and answer what you can.
I am no dream interpreter, I can only ask questions that may help you yourself to decipher them.

Well, all of the details I included I would consider important. Those that died affected me very strongly, defeating the enemies was satisfying, except in the shallows; in that one it felt like an empty victory. It was raining in ALL of them; except the last one. The thing that distinguishes these dreams from all my others is that they did not feel like dreams. They felt as real as the waking world. I could smell the blood, hear the screams, feel the wetness in my boots. I recognised both the devil and God when they presented themselves in the dreams. Also; upon waking from these dreams, I was in such terror that I could niether speak nor move, save to shake uncontrollably. Sometimes this lasted as long as an hour. A reaction you would expect from someone who experienced the events, rather than dreaming them. It still causes fear in me to think about them.

I do appreciate the help/input, and questions are welcome.

I've had dreams where I've been in strange buildings and foreign lands.

My most recent takes place at another church:

The Front Steps

I was sitting on the steps of my parish church, or so it seemed. As it was much taller and seemed more commanding. But I remember that the only people there was myself, a gentleman with long black hair that was tied back into a ponytail, and a woman with brown hair and long bangs. We were all wearing black trenchcoats with white undershirts and tan khaki pants with large wite wings on our back. There were statues of armored men holding spears on pedastals on either side of steps. We sat there silent for a while. Until something like a telepathic announcement came into our heads and we walked into the church.

The Little Girl

So the three of us walked into the church and waited by the door. The inside of the church was nothing like my parish church. Everything was made of a darker wood. And everything seemed more gothic. There was a little girl walking around the nave of the church. She looked like a girl from Grammar school that I remember being in kindergarten. I was her mentor....or something like that. They were talking about her and me. I think I was supposed to be her teacher.

Screwin' Around

Then the three of us left the church to sit on the steps some more. We were laughing and talking about properties of triangles, geometric laws surrounding them and such. About how if you kicked a brick that was half an inch thick, shaped like a scalene right triangle, you could get it fly far. And if how you kicked it right, it would boomerang back to you.

then I woke up.

Got another one, but before I do that, an earlier dream that corresponds with the one I had last night:

Infiltration

It starts out in the dead of night, at my old grammar school. But this looks different. It's taller, more menacing and the convent next to it is similar to a Japanese palance in the way of design. I'm with a large group of people around the age of 18 or so, some them of are kids from my graduating grade-school class, others I don't know. We standing around a part of the school that faces the main street of town. I'm standing on the grass with my hands in my pockets, as I wear a black jacket with black jeans, black shoes and a black shirt. Some blokes on a ladder are trying to open a window from one of the upper classrooms via some tools and a trusty crowbar. After a few minutes, they yell down to us that they can't get the window open and we ought to search for another way in.

As everyone dispersed themselves among the grounds of the school, I took a minutes to take in the scenery that was my hometown. It seemed different, but not too much. There were lights on the street, and from the shops a while down, but they did nothing to illuminate the schoolyard and those browing around it. So most of the light came from the moon.

So head towards the old recess area of the school, betting that I can get into the school via a door leading into the cafeteria. I looked at the changed school, there were walkways and balconies, and possibly five floors. I knew it was different, but the sense of familiar memories hung around.

Before I can test the side door, someone runs over to me and tells me that someone just opened the door facing the town courthouse. I felt joyed and relieved, and both of us ran to where a man was bent on one knee, using some tools to pry open the metal doors.

Live From New York....

So the large group of people and I entered the school after one man successfully pried a door open. We decided that this was where we were going to stay for a while. So we all chose classrooms to designate as infirmaries, bedrooms, diningrooms, etc., etc...I took a room on one of the upper floors and decided to look out of the window and gaze at mainstreet for a while. The room was dark, as the power was still dead. But I had a battery-powered radio and switched it on, trying to get the news.

And what news it was.

I remember listening about a terrorist attack on a NYC school through the use of a bomb charged with explosives and rigged to spread a dangerous powder-substance through the air vents of the school. As I stood by the window, listening, I remember the announcer saying, "This has been breaking news. Live from New York."

-----------------

And this was the dream I had last night:

Rugby

So I was in the cafeteria, this time on lighter terms. Enjoying a hearty game of rugby with some lads my age.

The power had been revived, and the school was lit. I could everything in the cafeteria now. Nothing had changed there. The big wood and ceramic crucifix that held a dying Nazarean with the "INRI" at the top. And the pvc-pipe cage that was put around him to protect him from gym class.

So some lads and I were playing rugby, the opposing team was moving in towards my goal, and I was in my usually agressive spirit. I grabbed one fellow in an Irish whip and launched him into a stack of table and down he went. I helped him up and he muttered something at me.

I wasn't too suprised.

For the rough-behavior, the referee gave me a two minute time-out in the penalty box. So, light-hearted and sweating, I stood in the alcove of the one of the two doors that lead from the main foyer of the school to the cafeteria. I remember seeing the Mythbusters (Adam Savage and Jamie Heidiman) standing in the other alcove, watching the game.

The Ghost

So I'm the 'penalty box', watching the rugby game, when one of my highschool comrades tells me about a ghost roaming around the school. So he takes me into the main foyer and I look around.

Nothing. So I go back into the cafeteria.

Then I find myself outside of the school. Standing by a large fire truck that has an air vent wrapped around it's ladder as a bull dog lay at the base of the ladder, happily panting away. I reached to pet it, but hesitated and decided against it as it seemed almost unnaturally white. So I had my blanket in my hand suddenly, a large quilt, so I hoisted it on my shoulder and jogged back to the entrance from the last dream. A group of other joggers passed me. I then noticed what used to be a concrete path (where I was jogging) was no longer there. It was simply sand, dirt and grass.

Spirituality

As approached the door, I saw what looked like small mosaics, shrines, and drawings of peoples in hoods and robes, winged men and women and a floating, translucent women that I recognized as a character from an anime (Tsunami, from Tenchi Muyo). I looked at these for a while, before walking solemnly back into the school.
