Gotcha!! domokun

Actually this post is more a resource guide, but I wanted to get your attention first. I don't mean this to be all encompassing, and by all means, go ahead and ask questions if something deviates, but here are some general rules for dealing with the paranormal.

1) Trust your instincts. I know psychologists say we only have one actual instinct (the rooting reflex in neonates) but if something FEELS bad, don't trust it. I'm not saying "write it off completely" but stay on point and for God's sake, don't deny your feelings for the sake of "tolerance". Yes, a liberal just said that, not kidding. Why do I say this? Because if someone gives you the heebie jeebies, makes your hair stand on end and your blood run cold, spiritually speaking, they probably aren't running with a good crowd....and it's probably your Holy Spirit "spidey sense" going off and telling you this person isn't in a good place. BTW: Just because a person is a pastor/priest/nun/monk/preacher etc does not mean they can't possibly have a demon on their back or a bad stain on their soul that's making you feel that way.

2) Speaking of places, same story. If a building gives you the creeps, even and especially a church, trust that feeling. If it doesn't have a good feeling about it, it probably isn't good.

3) So, I saw a ghost/demon/bad spooky thing in my house. What do I do?
Get rid of it. How do I get rid of it? Exorcism. Yes, good old fashioned exorcism. Fortunatley, at least for the basics, you don't need to be an imposing older Roman Catholic priest to perform one. Every baptised Christian is member of the "priesthood of the believer" by virtue of their baptism. If you run into an ugly spirit (that you're pretty sure is a demon or a devil", order it to leave in the Name of the Trinity. Now, why did I capitalise that? Because I wanted you to pay attention. You need to actually mention all three persons of the Trinity. The name of Jesus alone makes them squirm, but it's just not as effective as the whole shebang. Something in the effect of "In the name of the Living God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, I order you to leave this place and never return." The secret?? They really hate it when you say "the Living God", and you have to mean it. You have to say it aloud, you have to say it like you mean it, and you have to repeat this until it actually does leave. In the unlikely and scary event you end up doing this with a person, more details than this need to be discussed and you have to TOUCH THE PERSON. It's frightening and it doesn't feel good, but unless you actually touch the victim, it won't work.

I might add more later, but that's all for now.

Questions? Something to add? Post it here, we'll probably put it in another thread.

I had this happen to me not long ago. We went to a restraunt and were in a long line that wrapped around guard ropes. As the line moved slowly we kept passing these two men. The first time I passed them I got a feeling like they were not good and then forgot about them until the second time. It was that time I told my husband that I just didn't like the "feeling" that I got from. Being what I call a flatliner when it comes to these "feelings" that I get he rolled his eyes and we forgot all about them. We finally got seated and low and behold the waiter sat these two men right next to us.
As soon as they were seated they started running down the women in their lives and comparing the food they had in the restraunt to the prison food they were used to. Hmm? My husband hearing them looked at me with the strangest look on his face. Like astonishment, he was not rolling his eyes anymore.

This is my first post here in the guild. I am going to enjoy this very much.
There are other stories but they will be later.

is there a way to exorcise that's 'pagan' in a sense, I know Japanese shinto has some sort of rituals that do that.

Most cultures at most times in history have had some sort of exorcism ritual....however, I would only call a Shinto ritual pagan in the sense that it isn't Christian...it's a Shinto ritual. The postmodern umbrella term "pagan" usually applies to a variety of belief systems that have no "determined" belief structure. Shintoism... that's a distinct religious tradition all it's own.

I refer to any thing not Judaism/Christian/Muslim: pagan, so that's what i mean.

Yeah it is, but I'm unfmailer with any exorcism rituals outside of Catholism and some Christian, so I was wondering on any info, I searched myself but it's too hard to find.

Most wiccans I know will use a sage smudging bundle (Native americans too--you get a lot of crossover in Oklahoma), but that's about all I know about it. I am, after all, a Christian. I have burned sage during a house exorcism before because smells seem to help. I wouldn't know what to tell you outside of my own tradition.

It really depends on what you're trying to exorcise.
Demons that are the anti-theses of angels respond to GOd's name. In most cultures, there is an unnamed god, an indescribable god. As God is un-namable, it stands to reason then that invoking a named god to get rid of a demon is likely to make it giggle.
Demons in the truest sense only respond to Jesus' name and belief.
However, there are ways to exorcise other things (non-demonic spirits, ghosts, bad habits, negative energy) that root from a non-Christian view-point.
Basically it depends on what you're trying to exorcise

I can relate to that. My mother and I share the whole psychic thing (sorry for calling it a thing, I don't talk to many others because most people I know aren't quite ready to know) and my father had a new wife who gave Mom bad feelings. Recently, I actually checked in on her subconsciously and got a huge headache from bad energy. Unfortunately, we recently discovered that she is not entirely mentally healthy... and that kind of explained it.

Oh ick, GF... Mind-surfing in people who are less than stable or 'feel bad' is best attempted with a bit of, um, outside help? shall we call it?
I usually call an angel (any one you feel most comfortable with) to help me shield out the painful memories or bad emotions I might encounter. Yuo can do whatever feels best to you though, prayer, sheilding, spirit guide...whatever, really. Just try not to go it alone next time... You might get hurt if it turns out the person is really playing host/tess to something less than friendly.
Also, the mentally unbalanced are incredibly chaotic... The only reason I don't get headaches when I touch their minds is because of my ADD and the total lack of order in my own mind- I'm used to the insanity, so to speak.

To be honest, I didn't even want to mindsurf, much less go it alone. (I didn't really know that I could) and then, well, I prayed like hell for... a lot of things. It would have been easier if I weren't actually relaxed that night. Timing is everything... *mumbles*

A lot of times it is easiest to protect yourself and try to tune out on those around you. If however you get nasty feelings from some one ask for lots of light to surround you. The dark and nasty spirits don't like the light and will stay away from light. Send light to the dark and it will usually leave you alone.
