Screw it, lets just deport them as we find them, and post the military along the border. In any other context, sending millions of one country's nationals flooding into a neighboring country is called an "invasion". That's what it is. If they want to become USians they can do it legally or not at all.

I believe that severe laws should be put into affect to prevent illegal immigration...but this is probably just an unrealistic viewpoint. It's going to be extremely difficult to keep them from illegally entering America, but something seriously has to be done (strengthening our borders, jailing the ones we find, etc) No wonder California has so many people in it...half of them are illegal. The illegal immigrants put more Americans out of work and result in a higher unemployment percentage...if they want to become American citizens then they need to go through the same tests and screening as every other immigrant.

California is going broke over taking care of these 'undocumented workers' and the SoCal liberals wanted to give them licenses! I've seen this problem my entire life, and I am thoroughly sick of it. We need to shut the blasted border down, and start enforcing our laws for a change...these people breaking our laws and bringing their criminal behaviour and disease need to be stopped.

Okay, done with rant for the night...

I have already stated my opinion on illegal immigration, but I guess I can give the cliff notes of my philosophy. The way you stop illegal immigration, or at least slow it down, is to enforce the law. Laws like the Immigration & Nationality Act need to be enforced to remove much of the incentive to break our immigration law.

I remember hearing stories about when my family first came to America in the 1870s. They came to Ellis Island like countless others, waited for the chance to be admitted into the United States. They signed the papers, recieved their immunizations, and so on. Millions have come to this country through the legal routes over the years...and to think that there are some who would cheapen the efforts of legal migrants by flagrantly violating our nation's laws makes me very upset. And for the government to ignore illegal immigration is another dishonor to legal migrants that I just can't abide by.

Damn straight. My ancestors did the same in the 1920s.

I've been supporting The Minuteman Project since it started, and its members haven't disappointed. They conducted peaceful support of the Border Patrol last month, and despite the furor no one was hurt or killed. They also brought a lot of attention to the issue of illegal immigration.

The Minuteman Project is going to be conducting Operation Border Watch along the California border with Mexico during August, expanding it to "all U.S. borders" in October (though I'm not quite sure what that means yet sweatdrop ). And another event that I like is Operation Spotlight, where the Minutemen will expose those companies and corporations that hire illegal immigrants in violation of the Immigration and Nationality Act.

I have a few paid vacation days lined up, so I think after I go to AnimeExpo I will volunteer for the California leg of Operation Border Watch. I wasn't able to attend in Arizona, but now its in my backyard. ^_^ I fully intend to put my money where my mouth is.

Illegal Immagrants, are killing the american ecomics, how bout the idea of billions of U.S dollars being lost ,gone for ever. The sad part is this can happen. The American dollar is loosing its value because a little cheap mexican wants to come inot this country take money illegally then take it out of are econmey to mexico. I hate that!! Its one thing if the mexican is going to come here legally, pay the taxes, learn the nations language, but no way to many illegal immagrants are crossing the border stealing the jobs of americans(mexicans that are americans or have a green card) now this whole prblem could be solved if they got a green card and learned the language. But they dont so in the next five years all of texas will be mexican, and all they have to do is have a kid and their kid is an american citizen and they can live here. eek . I dont want to go to a fast food restruant and speak spanish to get a big mac, espically when im in America. I think that we should shut down the borders with military force, and put a bounty on the illgal immgrants to get them the hell out of the county.

You are making this more difficult than it needs to be. The only reason we need is that if they are going to enter our nation, they must do it legally or face removal. As a sovereign nation it is our duty to maintain our borders and laws.

Illegal immigration pisses me off! They definitely need to enforce the laws, particularly now that we have such a threat of terrorism. You would think that we would have learned a lesson with 9/11. They need to be deported!!!

What gets me even more angry is the fact that everything in the US is bilingual!!! When you go to another country you need to know thier language... so how come when you get to the US you don't need to understand English????

Send more reinforements to protect the borders and send all people trying to get into America illegally to jail or fine them, depending upon how persistent and severe the individual is.

It's the only way these illegals will ever learn.
