((OOC: this is where most people are likely to encounter an Anansi, if you're looking to encounter one of them anywhere near their home turf, this is your best option.))

Above the Caverns of the Mistweavers is a rocky terain near a steep emankment. The River here, which flows almost constantly, save in very dry weather, carves itself directly into the stone, eventually vanishing into the ground and so deep into the earth not even the most dedicated Anansi explorer has discovered how deep it goes. Here also, on the rock face, can be seen handfulls of tunnels and openings, and even a few on the flat earth above the embankment, these often hidden by rocks and tall grass that, on careful inspection, may have been encouraged to stand where they are, the better to conseal the mouths of Anansi caves. The caves themselves are dark, and smell forbodingly of earth and strange mixes of 'lion' 'clay' and other things.

User Image Taban emerged slowly from the mouth of the cave just along the boarders of the mistweaver lands, his ears rotating upwards to listen into the night. The crickets were humming just as strongly as ever, meaning the coast was clear. Smirking, the young cheetah slank his way free of the cave. Both Lucia and Fubar were on patrol, he was alone to practice his wind chaising.

The youngest member of the anansi, but not at all useless or dim as a cub would have been, he delighted in challanging himself night after night. Stalking hares and the occasional meerkat or monkey to sharpen his hunting and tracking skills, not to mention to test this speed he was supposed to have as a gift from anansi himself.

"This body...", he mummered to himeself, walking cooly through the grass, "Anansi birthed a lion into the body of a windchaiser- that's what it is." He still believed himself to be a lion... perhaps trapped in the body of another beast or perhaps he was even a new breed of lion itself! The thought brought a thin smirk to his maw. "Yes... a new breed..."

Tiacapan was perched on a flat slab of rock not far from the mouth of said cave, though perhaps perched is not the right word to use. The dark lioness had draped her body across it, lounging silently. She hadn't moved for hours, not sleeping, but not really awake either.

At the movement of Taban leaving the cave, the lioness's ears pricked up only slightly, green eyes sliding sideways to follow the young "lion"s movement. Waiting until he'd passed her rock, Tiaca yawned widely and stretched, dragging blunted claws across the rock and slipping down.

"Taban," she greeted, shaking her fur free of dust and padding towards him, a friendly smile on her muzzle. "Taking a midnight walk?"

User Image The cub turned smoothly, his ears rotating ever so slightly at the sound of claws moving accross the surface of stone. It took a lot to startle him. His cool demeanor only slipped in great suprise or whenever he was up to something. "A midnight walk? The only time for one I suppose." His lips quirked slightly and he turned once more to look over the flat grasslands stretching out in the darkness, "We are afterall only ghosts on the overworld. No, I emerged to hunt once more. I cannot catch the wind if I am still struggling to catch dinner.

The lioness nodded, padding smoothly closer and seating herself a foot or so away from Taban. She was still looking up distractedly at the stars.

"Ah yes.. I'm not a hunter myself, so I must admit I often forget that others are," she said almost sheepishly, offering Taban a grin. "Shall I leave you, then, to hunt?" she offered, looking back to the little 'windcatcher' with a smile. She was fond of Taban, but somewhat warily so -- she suspected he knew much more than her, and there was always something hidden about the way he spoke.

User Image "You don't know how to hunt?" He quirked a brow slightly, flicking the end of his tail. How strange... from what he could understand from normal prides the lionesses did all the hunting, "How curious."

The cheetah glanced out along the grasslands once more, lifting his head up to taste the air for a time. The winds changed just enough to bring the faint scent of a nearby herd of gazelle. Smirking the cheetah began forward, "Never a better time to learn then the present."
