What are some famous or not so famous tones that you like? And how does your current tone sound?
I really like Beefcake the Mightys tone. And Stu Hamms because he is god.
I'm really disappointed with my tone. Because my cheapo pre won't let me get the thunderous lows that I like but at the same time, keep crisp, clean highs. So, I just kept the bass nice and deep while my highs are meh, but they could be worse.

Les Claypool of Primus has one of the best tones on the Rhinoplasty album. It's not all mid filled and bass-less like his previous albums.
I also love Geddy Lee's tone from 1974 (Rush's first album) to 1982 (Rush's Signals album). It has that lower-mid range punch that is so indigenous to the rickenbackers that he played at the time.

Probably Daniel Brummel from Ozma's tone. It's got a melodic lilting on the high notes, but enough girth to still hold down the bottom. Very sweet.

picknslap Shiney Dollar i absolutely adore geezer butler's tone! I absolutely adore geezer butler all together though.... cool. I've never been a big fan of his tone. I love his playing, but his tone irks me. most of the times, when it sounds like it's a distortion pedal, it's actually a waa.. they work quite well for adjusting tone though.
