(Want to play with a want to be pridelander?)

The light brown lioness walked slowly, her fur was matted and splotchy and she was quite scrawny for being an adult. "Should have stayed near my rocks," she muttered to her self, a common occurrence.

Unknowingly she had started her walk into a new land, with an entirely new pride. Bewildered, she was alone again, an odd thing considering she'd recently acquired a companion/friend. Mvumo was a nice lion, and she would have to go back searching for him.

"Why did I ever leave?" her voice was soft, almost musical.

((I HAD a reply started right before I got offline, but the power blinked and my comp rebooted on me DX ))

As any member of the ever-growing pride was wont to do, Danzi was out patrolling the borders. Ever since he'd arrived, he'd taken it upon himself to learn everything about the territory, and while he didn't remember everything, he made note to remember the more important details, particularly what paths led where.

His current path led him, incidentally, by a rogue entering the lands. Stopping to examine her from a distance, the first thing that struck him was the darkness of her pelt. A deep, chocolatey brown, much darker than the last dark brown lioness he'd met(Because Andrani sees dark brown when she looks at Aadil xd ;; ). Tail flicking, he headed towards her, going at a slow pace.

Closer examination told him her markings, and that her tail... Looked like the evening sky. Blue... Of course, that was nothing, he'd seen blue lions around the pride now and then. This was much more 'normal' compared to some lions.

As she walked she at first spotted an orange blurr on the horizon, and for a moment almost thought him to be the sun, of course as she walked closer and as he moved she noted he was another lion.
"Odd, not the sun, you're an odd one 'dil," she spoke to herself yet again.

The orange lion peeked the LIGHT brown lioness' interest and she started to more closer to where he moved. "Hello there?" she spoke quietly, hoping that he wasn't going to try and harm her, from the shape of her pelt it seemed her life was already hard.
"You're not a threat, are you?"

(Compared to many lions she's light to me so, :-p!)

Ears flicking forward, the male raised his head. "No, just curiouse." An easy smile came to the orange lion's face as he drew closer, moving so that she didn't get blinded by the sun. "Hello, and welcome to the Pridelands." He bowed slightly, stretching one paw forward on the ground and tucking the other up close to the bottom of his mane. "My name is Danzi. Who might you be?" He looked up at her, green eyes dancing in delight at meeting someone he didn't know.

"Thank goodness you're not going to eat me!" A large smirk spread across her maw and she bowed her head slightly. "I'm Aadil, I call myself 'Dil."
The cublike smirk never left her face as she glanced up peering through light blue eyes. Things seemed to be looking up for the mangy lioness, hopefully there was no rejection from this new land.

"I'm from back there a bit," she titled her head to signify the direction, "Are you from here?"

"It's nice to meet you, Aadil." He seemed to have a thing for meeting lionesses with A names... Sitting down, the male smiled. "I might look like I do, with coat patterns like this... But no, I'm not..." He sighed. "I'm from an oasis far to the west of here. But somehow, being here feels right..."

"Coat patterns? I'm a bit confused. I must confess you're about the fourth or fifth lion I've ever seen." She blinked curiously and pretended to look past Danzi as she inspected him. He was larger, but that meant nothing. Mvumo seemed to be the same size as her, maybe a little bigger. And others that travled through, some big, some small.
Her blue orbs twinkled in the sun; she was excited to meet a new lion, a new friend?
"Here feels right.." she smiled again, she wasn't used to being so happy.

((She still looks dark brown to me... xd Like a nice chocolate whee Oh, with vanilla in it! 4laugh And a bit of blue xd ))

"Yeah..." He lifted up a paw, showing off how his toes were all a pale yellow-ish color compared to his orange coat, then motioned to his belly, muzzle, and eyes. "I have the same markings as the queen and a few of her children." He titled his head, sighing. "It's strange, I say..."

His gaze turned to Pride Rock off in the distance. Now THAT was a landmark hard to miss or mistake. "You could always stay here, you know..." A slight smile came to his maw. "There's plenty for all in these lands, after all."

"Maybe you're a royal lion and you don't know it?" she teased; inspecting what he thought to be the same. "Maybe you'll ahve to show me the others that look like you?"

"You're a very beautiful color," she said boldly, it would be hard to mistake the embarrassment in her face. She couldn't believe she'd just admitted said something like that out loud.

"Erm...care to show me where exactly you live?" her voice was smooth; she spoke unwaveringly, he made her feel comfortable-- unafraid.

He couldn't help it, he laughed at the idea. "Me, a royal lion? I doubt it." In the back of his mind, a voice nagged at him that it COULD very well be true, but after so long with it, he'd learned to ignore it. And that's just what he did, he ignored the nagging voice.

At the beautiful compliment, he blushed a bit. It made his coat a bit darker, more of a ruddy brown than orange. "Oh.. Thank you..." He looked down at his paws, ears twitching. "You're rather lovely yourself."

Ears flicking forward, the orange male looked up. "Well, technically, we of the pride all live up at Pride Rock, but some of us tend to have dens around the lands if there's small cubs in tow." He rose up to all paws, smiling gently. "Care for a tour of the place?"
PostPosted: Mon Jul 24, 2006 8:22 am

"A tour would be lovely," she smirked, there was an unfamiliar warmth in her face. She quickly pushed away. It was because today was pretty warm, not because of embarrassment, right? she mused quietly.

"I don't see any cubs in tow, unless you're sitting on them!" she snickered and stood up' glancing directly into those big green eyes. "Pride rock huh, that must be the giant rock up there?" She tried her best to be witty and at this point eas miserably failing. She wasn't at all used to company, and trying to entertain another person was making her feel uncomfortable.

A slight, almost bitter laugh escaped Danzi. "Me, have cubs...? None of my own... A lonely lion I am with not a cub in the world!" Oh, if he only knew a spawn of his loins was but a stone's hurdle away. Padding towards the rock, a less bitter chuckle came about. "Yes, it's the giant rock up ahead. Unless there's another Pride Rock somewhere?" He glanced at her, almost mesmerised by her blue eyes.

"Maybe there's a Pride pebble? Or gravel mound?" she teased. "I want cubs some day." the words spilled from her lips, matter'o'factly.

She followed him like a lost cub staying close behind and her eyes constantly on her paws. She walked with her head down, no one was around to teach her to walk with pride.

"Hmmm..."

Under his orange coat, a blush rose up. "You do...?" Certainly, even though he yearned to have cubs of his own, Danzi hadn't actually THOUGHT about it much. He watched the manner in which she walked, ears flicking. "You might want to lift your head... You never know if you're about to run into a tree or rhino with it down like that."
