I dont know why but thats one of my farovite songs!

I like the song too. Whenever I sing it, in the begining I'll sing as Mimi, then, when it goes to Mark-Roger singing, I'll sing Roger, then when Mimi comes back in, I'll sing as Mimi. I really think that they should have kept all of Goodbye Love in the movie. It shows Roger leaving and when Mimi is at the window, watching Roger leave and she sings, 'Hello disease,' that pretty much shows that she's giving up.

WITH GOOD REASON!!

It's a hardcore song. I really like it too. And that they cut it out in the movie sorta bothers me. I think there was a gap where they cut it out. But I don't know.... I just really like it too.

Yeah, it sort of seemed like a necessity for the movie to really understand some of it. Without it, it's sort of.. missing something. It's a good song, with a lot of confrontation, and a lot of stuff happens in that one song.

I might be wrong, but I remember that someone working with the movie (Chris Coulmbus?) said that they left the second part of Goodbye love out, because they didn't want to make it too emotional. Ummmm.......this is right after Angels death, so a big part of the audience is probably in an emotional state already. If they didn't want to make the movie too emotional they should have cut out Angels death too *heavy sarcasm* Or maybe they should have filmed a safer and less emotionally challenging musical, like The sound of music *even heavier sarcasm* I don't sing along to Rent (horrible voice) but I sometimes kind of whisper Mimi's part, then Mark's in the Mark-Roger thing and then Mimi's again. And start crying every time I sing/whisper Mimi's part at the end of the song emo emo

The combination of Halloween and Goodbye, Love probably my favourite part. Sure, it's sad, but the music is so expressive and fits together so impeccably well. Whenever I hear one, I just have to hear the other, you know?

It was such a great song. I'm lucky they had it as a deleted scene. Otherwise I never would have scene it.

Yeah.. that's some great stuff between Mark and Roger too.... so sad.... Both Goodbye Love and Halloween let you really know a lot about Mark you don't get from the rest of the movie, and it's really a shame they cut it out...

I AGREE!!!

It really did leave a sort of gap when they cut out the second-half of the song "Goodbye Love." Now I never saw, or really understood, RENT until I saw the movie first, but when I saw that part and then "What You Own" I got a bit confused. I mean, it randomly goes from Roger leaving to cutting on the roof to see Roger and Mark hugging? That just doesn't make sense without the fight. Plus it's like Mark's character isn't as complete with the song (along with "Halloween" but I don't mind that as much as this song).

Hello? Chris Columbus? It's RENT! It's supposed to be emotional!
