What brand of pencils? If you got them at some sort of dollar store, they might be within my budget. I was kidding about having only the basic colors. All I have is most of a box of RoseArts (the lead is too hard for good coloring or blending, and it doesn't get dark enough to scan), a few random Crayolas (better, but there aren't many and they're mostly odd shades of pink), and a black Prismacolor. I like that pencil. Ebonies don't count.
The choice of red in either Roseart or Crayola form is icky. None of them are good reds... All light, orangey, or purplish colored... Why is there no red that looks red? Or even a deep red? sad
And I have nothing that would give that skin color that you used.

There are way too many pinks... and My problem with Rose arts pencils Are simmilar, except the lead always breaks on mine.... I have some prisma colors I Picked up while I was working at micheals... I love them so much.. the lead is so nice and soft, It blends so beautifully, and it almost never breaks.... Course then you have to deal with the exorberant price of the pencils but GOD they are worth it... The Red is SOOO red! *snuggles her prisma colors* I am so covetus of them they are in a drawer separate from all my other pencils cus Our babysitter used to draw while she was here... and she used my red aaaaaaaall the time and I didn't want her to use it all up crying

It probably happens because I press too hard to get a good color when I know it's not possible... I think I'll buy a few Prismacolors if I ever go to the craft shop again. There's only one store around here that I know of which sells those pencils, and I can't get there unless my mom goes shopping nearby... 'Cause my mom won't drive me out there so I can buy five pencils...

I press with RoseArts 'cause they don't show up very well (or maybe I just suck at coloring). I try to layer over a brown or a dark blue to get a nice color, but they don't blend very well so it just ends up looking like icky camouflage. I can get to a Dollar Tree in the near future, so I might look for those pencils... whee
