User Imagesweat dripped off of her brow as her green eyes rolled her gaze across the horizon. The noon-high sun radiated intense heat upon all the creatures of the savannah and didn't know enough to save itself from Kia who foolishly decided to explore the pridelands even though this day was turning out to be hotter than most.

The nearly grown clay-toned feline sauntered slowly and cautiously across the cracked dirt, an acute sensation of thirst taking over her body as she felt herself growing weak.

Feeling fragile, the female had a kittenish pout painted across her dry black lips as she looked about for a wateringhole. There must be one somewhere nearby she thought over and over again. Kia had never once put a thought toward the fact that even paradise, like the pridelands, had its bad days.

Adanna raced through the tall stalks of grass with a grin on her maw, enjoying the sunshine. Ohh~! What a lovely day! Perhaps unlike her cubs and mate, she enjoyed the heat greatly. It reminded her of her homeland, though still note quite hot enough, and was an improvement from the chilly weather she disliked. She couldn't remember how many times she had counted herself saying to Nukta "I'm cold!". Which often led to one thing or another to keep her warm.

So she had gone out for a run while the others had stayed in the shade. At least, she had after she had teased them conciderably. The orange and white lioness slowed her pace slightly so she could get her barings. In the process she caught sight of a rather miserable looking lioness not far away. She tilted her head slightly, wondering why she looked so...sluggish? Down? Something like that.

((xDD last night I was scanning over your post to change the title because it was really late by the time I got back and this morning I realized Nukta wasn't part of the RP... oops rofl ))
User Image Her ears swiveled back as she heard the rhythmic pattern of paws hitting soil, her brows furrowed as she slowly swiveled to face the sound. Whoelse would have a want to be out in the sun in a day such as today besides her? She couldn't fathom... especially now with thirst clenching her throat and nearly choking her with it's vicious edge.

She stumbled forward to greet the other lionness, her brows rose and her head down. She forced a shaky smile, but was in no state to do so naturally. She nodded a greeting, but instead of a customary 'hello' the only word that came out was..

"Water..." her voice was hoarser than normal and her eyes hazy, but she looked up at the other lionness with a pleading gaze. Hopefully she would know where to find a source of the life-bringing liquid

Adanna blinked. Ohhh...so this lioness was thirsty, hu? She didn't know where the watering hole was? The must mean she wasn't from the area. Great, looks like Ada was going to have to do an escort mission. Just how she wanted to spend such a beautiful day. Not. Oh well, fine. "Yeah...suure...come on. The watering hole's not far." Her voice had a slight edge of irratation to it, but obviously she wasn't unfriendly if she chose to take Kia to where she could resolve her thirst. She began to lope along at a steady pace towards the nearest source of water, flickering her auburn eyes back now and then to check to see that Kia was following.

(( xD Me and Tahja(Nukta's owner) noticed that too. We figured it was just a simple mistake. <3 ))

User Image She smiled slightly, seeing spots from lack of water, but at least they were pretty spots. pretty pretty blue spots.

"Thank you kind lady," she said, becoming slightly out of her sane state of mind, the heat seemed to really be getting to her "Lead on! lead on!" she traveled onwards, stumbling on a crooked path with her eyes closed. She only opened them once in every while to see where the female was going. A crooked grin was on her maw as she pranced along the path, though her head was aching something fierce and her recollection of why was fading as swiftly as her sanity.

Yes this lioness needed water fast.

Wow, what a strange lioness! Ada thought with a wrinkle of her nose and a confused frown. She was acting crazy. It could be because of the heat she supposed...but still. Who walked with their eyes closed as said things like "Kind lady" so enthusiastically? Well Ada didn't, anyway! Formalities and stuff...just weren't her thing. Nope, not her thing at all. Finally the watering hole came into sight and she stopped, turning to stare at the other lion with a puzzled look, "Uh...there. Water's right here."

User Image Kia felt confused. Of course that was water, what else would it be? Did she expect her to drink it?

Kia's brain had been entirely choked off by the thirst clamping to her throat. She looked bewildered as she glanced back and forth from the lioness before her to the watering hole, wondering who she was, how she got there, and how Kia herself ended up before a watering hole when a few seconds before she seemed to be somewhere else entirely.

The female shrugged slightly though and complied to this other's wishes, she leaned over the water and drank. Kia drank much more than her blank mind imagined her to want. She drank quickly and with greed, but internally wondered how she had gotten so thirsty. She continued to drink until she felt satisfied....and bloated, but somehow this water didn't jolt her to reality or make her feel better. In fact, at the time, the adolescant felt very sick and dizzy. The spots were still there, but now she felt the need to go wretch in the bushes.

Perhaps she had drank that water a little too fast...

Adanna stared at the other lioness with a frown. Her eyes narrowed and she gave Kia a look that said clearly 'What are you looking at?'. Ada didn't deal with crazies. Honestly, this whole ordeal was driving her nuts from the start. Now that they were finally where the lioness wanted-a watering hole- she stared at Ada like she had grown another head! What gives, hu?

So she scowled as Kia drank from the watering hole. Her frown only deepened as she noticed her going about it all wrong-you never drink so much so fast! Goodness! "Hey...don't do that. It's not good for you..." Not that the other would listen. When Kia came up looking sick it was all Ada could do to prevent herself from rolling her eyes and saying 'told you so'. Boy this was a mess.

User Image "Nonsense talk" she spat out "Water is always good for you" but a lurch of her stomach directly after she said so proved otherwise. This was certainly not turning out to be a pleasant day at all and her features twisted themselves into a pained frown to prove it.

"I am certain that water will always be good for me" she said once more as if to prove to herself that her own opinions were in the right. "I just think I'll...."

without finishing her sentence the female stumbled over to the base of a nearby tree and flopped onto the ground, belly up, her stomach bubbling in a very uncomfortable fashion for Kia. That same kittenish pout returned as she flopped her head sideways to look back over to the other lioness standing preturbed at the edge of the watering hole.

"I'm just feeling a little tired, I should be up and at 'em in no more than ten minutes" she nodded from her sprawled out position in the dirt, a smile forced across her black lips, but in reality she was feeling rather green.... if that was possible for a lion

"Not like that it isn't!" Ada wrinkled her nose, starting to feel as if her tail was being pulled in a knot, so to speak. She was getting irratated and feeling uncooperative at the moment. She didn't want to mess around with this lioness, who had obviously lost her mind. "You're so wasteful! You're body won't be able to retain all of the water you drank like that and you're going to make yourself sick too! Lets hope you're the only lioness out there like this. You'd be dead in my homeland acting like that." It was true, so to speak. The desert had been her home as a cub and though the time was far away it had left a huge imprint on her. You never wasted water there. Ever. Here, no one seemed to care.

User Image Kia rubbed her stomach with a large paw as she stared open-mouthed towards the sky. Although she still felt rather sick she felt much better laying down on the ground over here where she felt at least a little more sheltered from Adanna's ridiculing gaze. She grinned, now feeling more bloated than queasy as she rubbed her tummy some more with her eyes closed, admiring what a lovely place this would be for a nap. She continued behaving as such until Ada's next words blew into Kia's large swiveling ears.

"Wasteful?" she said, head cocked to the side as if the word was a puzzle. She continued repeating the word over silently as Ada spoke, mouthing the word wasteful over and over again, also effectually ignoring everything else that came out of Ada's mouth after the word wasteful.

"I like water though, I am very appreciative to water" she smiled and nodded, thinking that if she appreciated the fact that she had water it couldn't be wasteful for her to drink it. It made perfect sense to Kia, although lolly-eyed lionesses dizzy in the grass probably could not often be taken seriously
PostPosted: Sat Jul 22, 2006 9:32 pm

"Being appreciative isn't enough!" Ada squwaked in frustration. This lioness was hopeless! She didn't even seem to be listening! "That's like saying...oh...you appreciate food but then you kill an animal when you aren't hungry!" She didn't even know why she bothered. Kia seemed hopelessly out of it, like when Nukta was tired or in one of his...moods. She should know by now that huffing and puffing didn't always do anything in these situations.

"Well, now that you aren't dying of heat stroke or anything, I'm going," She snapped irratably. Poor Kia was getting the fowl side of Ada's temper it seemed.

User Image Kia snorted, feeling a rather creeping sensation that signified the oncoming of a belch. She stifled it the best she could for this lioness only seemed to be getting more and more angry. Kia frowned inwardly, however, when Adanna informed her that she was going to leave. Kia didn't want to admit, but even somebody as irritable as Adanna satisfied her forever lingering need for company and although the two lionesses seemed to have absolutly nothing in common besides location and species Kia knew that the moment Adanna left she would feel completely and utterly bored.

Kia shrugged, her paw waving to and fro idly and her wide green eyes watching her own movements intently and with a fair amount of interest. "Fine, fine" she said unenthusiastically, "Leave me here all by myself in the blistering heat.... I'll be alright" She pouted slightly, rolling her eyes skywards and watching the clouds being almost positive that no matter how mcuh she whined and pouted about Adanna stranding her in the desert-like heat this other lioness would probably slip away anyhow. She seemed like the type that would do such a thing in Kia's mind, so if Adanna felt like leaving Kia well knew that there was probably nothing she could do to stop her.
PostPosted: Mon Jul 24, 2006 11:27 am

Adanna wasn't paying much attention to Kia at this point. When she heard her words, she took them at litteral meaning. But even if she had heard the tone she probably wouldn't have responded differently. She snorted, glowering at Kia for a few moments before she turned sharply and began to lope off through the grasses. With today being so nice she was not going to waste it on some silly lioness who didn't even have basic common sense!

User Image Kia pursed her lips, an exasperated expression written on her features. Although she didn't approve of the sandy toned lioness walking away from herself Kia remembered that there would probably be no sense in bothering her any further.

Not known for dignity, Kia faced the situation the best way she knew how. Her brows knotted as she crossed her forelegs indignantly over her chest as she pouted, her final resolve against Adanna, her final resolve that would probably go unnoticed
