Was there any use in telling the sun to go away? No. Not even a use in telling it to tone it down with the heat.

The lioness mumbled a complaint to herself, one that made no sense to anyone but the speaker. As if she bared a grudge like no other, she trudged over to the watering hole and wasted no time diving into it.

A second later, she emerged, fell to the ground, rolled over and squinted a glare up at the evil light. "Trying to prove something by giving me a heatstroke, are you?" Hasana asked in a grumpy voice.

Daimyn bent to lap at the water, aware of the female swimming across the way but not saying anything just yet.

He might've fancied a swim himself; being white had its advantages in the sun, but that didn't take away the fact that it was HOT.

"You get used to it eventually, if you're out here long enough," he answered the lioness' irritated remark, padding closer to her. "Are you one of the Pridelanders?"

Though, he reflected a moment later, if she was a Pridelander, she should be used to the open grasslands and the sun that went with them by now.

Hasana was far from the friendliest lioness out there. Her tolerance for the heat was extremely low. So when the sun was blazing down on her grumpy self even more than usual, she was a force to be reckoned with in terms of being rude and snappy.

"Why would anyone with sense stay out here long enough to adjust to it?" she hissed under her breath and rolled back over. Her head lifted, and her brown and green eyes stared at him for a few seconds, merely examining.

White. THAT was plain. Better than looking like a zebra, however, she had to admit...

"No, I'm not one of anything."

Daimyn nodded at her answer, bent to lap more water. "Sometimes you have no choice. Travelling, for example; you can get caught out in the open, no shade... Can't always help being out in the heat."

He had experience in that area, of course. Travelling had both advantages and drawbacks.

Her snappy demeanour wasn't lost on him; he just chose to ignore it. "Are you from around here, then?"

Fair enough. While his logic was...logical, Hasana's grumpy self wasn't about to agree with him outloud. It was hot and she was pissed. Enough said.

"No, I'm..." She was what? From somewhere? She must be from SOMEWHERE, but where was a good question. "I'm not from anywhere really," the lioness decided. "No where I remember, anyway."

"A rogue, then," he commented. "I'm one as well... or, was. My mate and I have taken up residence in these lands."

He offered up nothing else; his guard was already dropped noticeably. It was obvious he felt comfortable here -- he had the protection of the pride, after all.
