This sticky is going to serve as a database for any helpful art-related links or tutorials that people can find. So, if you find a good art site or tutorial, just post the link here and I'll add it to the list for easy access. :3

3D Virtual Figure Drawing Studio (Female)
3D Virtual Figure Drawing Studio (Male)

I just downloaded this program, and wow, I'm blown away. I always find myself searching Google and Yahoo! for good poses for my art, but I never have much luck. But with the program, you choose from a variety of poses and tweak them around to get the perfect one for your drawing.

Another huge plus side is the lighting. It shows you exactly what parts of the body (facing any direction) should be highlighted and shadowed. If you have trouble coming up with realistic poses and lighting for your art, you should definitely download this little handy program!

If anyone is having trouble understanding the program, here's a little explanation from me. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/Tawneh/help.jpg

Here's two tutorials I found helpful.

One for shading realistic hair: http://www.rebekahlynn.com/free/tutorial/hair_tutorial.html

And I don't know if anyone does pixelart here, but here's one for pixel shading short hair: http://www.imperialgirl.co.uk/hairtut.htm

I'm getting the male 3d figure programme. I haven't dared draw a guy for a long while.

I haven't got that yet, but I probably will sometime soon. The only annoying thing about these is that a little box comes up every... 30 seconds? XD Telling you to buy the real thing.

But hey, it doesn't bug me too much.

Hmm.

I just downloaded OpenCanvas, and I'm wondering... is it supposed to be in a language other than English? Because the headers and whatnot are all just little... random symbols, and then after them is an english letter in parentheses. Is this what it usually does, or is it just me?

Under the last option at the top (furthest to the right) there should be an option to change it to English. If it's not the last one then it is on one of them up there so just take a look. 3nodding

Oh!
One site that I love dearly is corbis.com.
It's a stock-photography site, so I probably shouldn't use it if I'm not going to buy the pictures ( heh heh. ^^; ), but it's great if you're looking for certain poses or body-types.

It's got literally thousands upon thousands of different photos on it. (:

I spend way too much time on this sticky. xd

I was skimming through the tutorials on dA today when I came across one that makes me weak in the knees like a japanese school-girls. <33333

It's beautiful.
Gorgeous.
Exactly what I've been looking for.

And it makes me so HAPPY. biggrin
