I am currently planning a wedding with my boyfriend of seven and a half years. We would love to get married next June or July, but as I've been doing some number-crunching, I've determined to leave it all in Gods hands.
Basically, I have a year of school left to finish, and I am 24, have no real career plans (other than getting an art degree), and i've bussed everywhere since high-school, and don't have a liscence or a car, both of which I will need soon for my own sanity and would be of great help for my job.
There are things I know we can afford, such as rings, possibly catering and renting the hall, but the main problem lies with our lack of a financial plan, and the fact that I still want to go to school this year. We have been ready to get married for four or five years already, and putting it off one more year would make us both incredibly sad- especially since the timing of next year really does feel right...
It looks as if my going to school will hold me back from getting married on time, because if I wasn't in school, I'd get a second job and work my butt off. PLUS, if all this weren't enough, I need to find a new appartment in the next month or so, because of a roommate change. I'm in over my head, and I will not succumb to Satan's confusions and depression! >grrr< scream
So, what can we do? I work with myself on a daily basis to attempt to get my plans for the future and moneis in order, but it is a very daunting task, and only God can steer me in the correct direction for my life, as I've told him time and again.
So, prayers? Incredibly powerful.
Praise to the Lord of All for his guidance, the eventual success of His will in this situation? A priceless appreciation from me. heart

Just a quick thought Frog, you could file for a student loan, which I know you're not thrilled with, but when you go to pay it back, you can choose the $50 a month option, so it's not too bad!! Am prayin' and will help with what I can!!!

beaufleur Just a quick thought Frog, you could file for a student loan, which I know you're not thrilled with, but when you go to pay it back, you can choose the $50 a month option, so it's not too bad!! What you could also do. My youth pastor did this. Get married offical by a judge or justice of the peace get finacial stable and then have a wedding a year later. You get all the benefits of being married finacial speaking of course. But we will pray nonetheless fo God to guide you and help you.
