Alright, so, I love bubble tea.
It's one of my favorite drinks.

The problem with this is, it's rather expensive, and I have to drive for about 30 minutes to get to the tiny Korean restaraunt that sells it >.<

So I decided to find a way to make my own, and it was pretty simple.

Add milk, strawberry Nesquik syrup, ice, and a cup or so of very strong tea (I like earl grey, but tried it with orange pekoe, it didn't taste the same, so go with earl grey) together in a blender. The tea should probally be 1/6 to the other ingredients, I made a huge blender full >.<
Blend it all together.
Add more ingredients until it tastes just right to you.
One could even use strawberry icecream/sherbert instead of milk!

The end result is a drink that tastes quite close to strawberry bubble tea, minus the bubbles.
There may be places that would sell the giant tapioca balls, but I don't know of them.
For other flavours you could use other flavours of icecream or sherbert =3

Most aisian/oriental markets sell tapioca pearls.
I've never had bubble tea, and as I dislike tapioca, I'm afraid to try it. D: Also, nowhere around here sells it premade. XD
I guess I could order a bottle from the internet. x:

Wow, I never tought tapioca existed out of Brazil! xd
And I had never had bubble tea either... but it looks good 3nodding

I have seen tapioca balls in the supermarkets here, but they are small and white... the ones I've seen over the net are black/brown... confused

However, I found the recipe:
http://bubbletea.biz/recipes/tapioca.html
It looks like they're already colored and flavored... but some people here make them (we call "sagu") with flavored syrups, fruit juice or even wine. We let the tapioca balls soak in water for about one hour, then boil them in the wine, or juice, until they become colored. Then, we add sugar. I wonder if it would taste alike if I done that way, but with some sort of caramel.

I'll try to make it here, I'm so curious about this Bubble Tea! I love tea ^^

Boba Teas!!!
I love these like WOW!
Theres a small restaurant a few blocks from my dorm that sells the best bubble teas, in all sorts of flavors. And they dont have to have Tapioca pearls either, you can get them with Coconut Jelly instead if you dont like tapioca. I love both, but i get the jelly more often because they are lighter and i dont feel like im chewing something....squishy.

But yeah. I guess I'm lucky because I have a close place to get them and they're only $3. I spend lots of money on them though.
My favorite flavors are Coconut, Strawberry, and Red Bean.

the really big asian markets not only have packets and tapioca pearls but sets (around 6-8 servings (three or four diffrent flavors) for 10$ with everything you need to make perfect bubble tea)

im sure you could buy these sets on a website or something.

Yay! I love bubble tea, but the closest shoppe to my house is about an hour away. But you have a choice if you want the pearls in it our not! (plus they charge extra for them)

Does anyone know if green tea icecream exists in Canada? I'm interested in making a green tea flavoured sherbert.
