The Circle of Life is a fickle concept, one that makes a person think over the transaction quite carefully. It is said that when one creature passes on, another shall be born, and always the circle moves with each action in time. Palesa, not a native of the lands and beliefe, really had a hard time beliving such things, though she understood the logic behind it. Instead, she listened to the winds, and trusted them to guide her through her life, instead of trusting words of prides. With how much she believed this movement, it is hard to know why she joined the Pridelands.
For the past few months, the pale lioness was contained to the pride rock, her weight swelling from the new cubs that were expected in the world. She had a feeling, with how peaceful everything was, that something dark was about to happen. With the foreshadowing winds brushing her pelt, she only left the rock to get water, and even than she made sure her trips were fast.
That early morning, Palesa woke to a sharp kick in her abdomin, a glare crossing her features as she noted the dusky colors in the sky. The sun had yet to rise, and yet the cubs insisted she get up and feed them, be it Na who hunts or the pregnant lioness they resided in. Moving to her paws, she decided to answer their callings, and steped away from the den and away from where Na slept. There would be no need in her mind for him to wake up, and with how he was snoring, he sounded quite deep in his slumber.
"Alright, alright..." Palesa cringed as she got farther away from the dens, "I understand you are hungery, there is no need to claw me-" She caught her breath and paused, her whole form getting straight as pain rippled away from her abdomin and through her body. Looking around, she tried to find a nice clearing, and moved away from the watering hole and towards the rocks. Though she would be unable to make it up the steps, she could still find a place away from the pride members who would wake up, just so they wouldn't overcrowd her.
An abandoned den was her answer, one that was well lit and viewable from the rock as well, and she settled at the entrance to catch her breath. Dead grass lined the flooring, appearing like a birth den as well, and a sinking feeling fell into the pale lioness' mind. Somehow, she knew it was time. As the pain ripped through it, it stole her of breath and of words, and all she could do was let out a low moan in pain. Oh boy, it was time.

After about an hour of pain and moaning, the sun was well on it's path to the sky, the distant horizon littered with beautiful colors of gold, sapphire, and ruby. Palesa however failed to note this, for she had moved to her side already and was on her way to birthing her first cub. With her rogue nature taking over, she focused only on the task of pushing, not calling for help or roaring out towards the others. It was the groaning and hissing that filled the cave, as if a dying animal was fighting off its last battle to keep everyone away.
"Just a little more..." She murmered hoarsly to herself, feeling the first form come through as her head fell back. Letting out a pant for a moment, she realized there was still more, and got to work at cleaning her cub. The creature was small, and had a dark pelt just like her father's. When Palesa finally got her clean, she lifted the blue cub up, and settled her down for her first meal, trusting for her daughter to be hungry enough to keep distracted through the rest of the birth. No sooner had the blue cub been settled, that another pain raced through Palesa's form. Hissing, she settled her head back again and closed her eyes as the pain went away, realizing she had a few moments before the next one would come.

The few moments lasted shorter than what the female would have liked. For as soon as she caught her breath, pains shot up her spine once more and she was heaving for air. It took only minutes for the next cub to come out, this one noticably lighter while she cleaned his pelt. Smiling as the soft pale furr matched her own, she settled him next to his sister and watched as both fought to suckle, soon finding their own.Not given a break, Palesa knew she was close to the end of the litter, and had a feeling that she was only in for one more cub. Pushing her hardest, she felt the speed of it pass and worked to settled the last one, and nother beauty of a girl, possessing the lighter pelt of mother. With all of it over, Palesa settled her head back and let her eyes clench shut. She knew the cubs were there from their feeding, so she took her time in gaining back her strenght as they ate. When they finally finished their meals, their soft mewings filled the temporary den, and Palesa shifted to hold all three close to her warm body. Slowly, she worked to clean their pelts some more, her tongue brushing the short fur as they settled to rest, as she soon would do once she knew the area was safe. As for now, she had to look out for her family. Something told her to hold onto them tight.
