A white cub wandered quietly through the forest. While Sevati wanted to stay close to home, she felt an itching to go and explore her surroundings. She didn't know many lions, in fact, she didn't know any other than her family. Lime green eyes scanned the area for any signs of life. The slow trinkle of water caught her attention as her red tipped paws brought her to a small stream.

Chepi followed the trees up ahead to find herself in some sort of forest. She could catch the scents of lions but none were in sight. She walked wearily through this forest until a stream up ahead made her very thirsty. She lowered her head to get a drink, unaware of a cub nearby.

The rustling of movement caught Sevati's attention almost instantly. Debating on whether or not to head back to her den, curiosity won the better of her as she crouched towards the ground. Keeping quietly, lime green eyes settled on a strange looking animal not a few lengths away from her taking a drink from the water. Curious, she took a few cautious steps towards the animal before she broke a twig. Cringing at herself, she stopped in midstep and held her breath.

Chepi heard a sound as her head shot up quickly. Scanning the area, she didn't spot anything right away, but she was still alert for any danger. She was in territory that she didn't know of and that could lead to danger. Sniffing the air, she caught the scent of a lion and bolted. That was all she needed as she dashed wildly through the forest.

Lime green eyes watched the animal dart away. Feeling a bit sad, Sevati let out a sigh before chasing after the animal. She was curious and wanted to know more about that other animal. It wasn't a lion, it looked a lot different than she did. Calling out in a tiny voice, "Wait up...please!"

Chepi daintly dashed through the forest as a small voice called out to her. Turning her head for a split second, she saw a cub following after her. Great, just what she needed. She stopped to take a breath and replied, "I don't trust strangers, thank you very much!"

Running up close to where the strange animal had stopped, Sevati paused as she was breathing heavily. Her tail flicked slightly as lime green eyes took a better look at the animal. It was about the same size as she was, strange! In a small voice, "I don't want to hurt you, I just wanted to know what you are. You don't look like any lion I know of."

Chepi was breathing heavily and watching the little lion cub wearily. This cub, while it was small, could take her down just as easily. Her eyes followed the cub's movements before she flicked her ears. Didn't know what she was? "Well, of course I'm not a lion. I'm a klipspringer!" She gave a small laugh as if it was funny, "A deer, Little Cub."

Slowly, Sevati's shy nature was kicking in as she realized just how small she was to the deer. Just because this deer was a bit bigger than herself, this made her all the more conscious of her surroundings. She wasn't anywhere near close to her family's den, and thus, if she were to get hurt, no one would ever know. As the deer replied, she tilted her head with a puzzled look, "A deer? Like the ones the rogues eat?" It was common knowledge that the lions here did not eat red meat, in fact, they lived mostly on fish, so the deer had nothing to fear. Whether or not the deer knew that was another matter altogether. "Do you...have a name?"

Chepi took a step back, this cub talked about eating. This wasn't good. Her alert sensors were going awire as she tried to get away from this cub, but getting a closer look at the white cub, she noticed how shy she really was. Was this cub....scared? "Name? Ah...my name is Chepi. You refer to lions as rogues, so does that mean I'm in a pride's territory"

A smile grew wider on the pale cub's features as Sevati looked at Chepi. "It's nice to meet you Chepi! You're the first thing I've seen in this place all day." She took a step forward before plopping herself down, "Ah yes, this is the Mistweaver Pride." She had a hard time saying the real name at the moment. "But don't worry, we only eat fish, if that's what you're scared about. I've heard a lot of the lions here have friends that aren't lions."

Chepi blinked. The first thing this cub has seen? Weren't there any others here, she thought to herself quietly. "The Mistweaver Pride...I think I've heard of them. They are talked about by being nice and friendly. But, I thought this place would be more of a jungle than a barren desert. Where'st he water?" A green eye took in the small white cub that was close to her own size, "What is your name?"

A small, nervous laugh escaped from Sevati, "How silly of me to forget! I'm Sevati, daughter to Athiri and Akamu'Hakan." She flicked her tail before placing her paw in the small stream. The water was clear and cool to the touch, "I don't know...our leader, unofficially anyway, has claimed that the storm god is punishing us for something. So, I don't really know."

Chepi tilted her head and smiled, "It's nice to meet you too, Sevati. At least I don't have to worry about being eaten here then." Her little tail flickered before she listened to the small cub. "The storm god? I've never heard about gods before, how can you be certain your pride is being punished?"

Lime green eyes grew wide. Now there was a question Sevati has never asked before. She let her paw dangle in the small stream for a bit, "I don't know Chepi. That's just what they say." At the sound of a distant roar, she got up from her spot, "That's my dad..it's time for me to leave. It was nice to find someone and hopefully I'll get to see you soon!" And with that, she raced her way back to her family's den.
