Haven't seen it, but I saw Bubba Ho-Tep, which was by the same director.
It was an awesome movie.

Hard to believe this came from the guy who made Beastmaster.
I love that floating silver ball of doom!

Here's some interesting things I found about this movie (IMDB.com)
Several references to Frank Herbert's Dune, including a bar named "Dune" and a scene where Mike is forced to insert his hand into a black box that inflicts pain as part of a test.
The mansion used for the exterior shots of the mausoleum was also seen in the James Bond Film A View to a Kill (1985)."
Sequels to the phantasm films are being made in comic book form.

Tall, creepy morticians, midgets in toxic waste bins, steel balls filled with children's brains that kill people, what's not to love. I've been a huge fan of the series forever. Its the second horror movie that I ever remember seeing(after Dawn of the Dead.) Brings back good memories.

The only one I saw was the fourth one on Sci-fi. But the first from what I've seen and heard is the best. I do also LOVE those sweet spheres the Tall Man has.

The tall man still creeps me out to this day.
Anyone see deleted scenes? The audio was broken half the time but some of them were funny.
I love this movie... mrgreen

Narquelie The tall man still creeps me out to this day. Anyone see deleted scenes? The audio was broken half the time but some of them were funny. I love this movie... mrgreen The only deleted scenes I know about are flashbacks that show up in Phantasm IV. That last flashback in the film ("Did you hear something?") makes me wonder if Coscarelli has planned that ending twenty years earlier.
