I hate summer. It is the one season of the year that I get struck the hardest by my insomnia, and I get so f#$%^&g sweaty that I cannot stand it. The bugs prefer the taste of my blood over ANY other blood on the planet, and my place of work(Wal-Mart) doesn't turn on the AC for us on the overnight shift.

And yet I look forward to summer all year, for two important purposes.

GARAGE SALES. YARD SALES.

You can pick up any piece of useless crap at these things, and believe me, I do enjoy collecting useless crap. I collect toys, for one thing. Frog memorabilia, movies, and cds for another. CDs are an uncommon find, and movies all the rarer. But oh, have I found toys and frog memorabilia this year.

A few weeks ago, I visited a local church garage sale, and found a Nintendo keychain Toadstool plushie. At a garage sale last week, I found a frog pen, and a glass owl for my grandmother. There was an assload of frog stuff at that one, but I limited myself to the pen.

Not twenty minutes ago, I came from a yard sale acropss the street from my library. The set-up looked promising from the get-go, so I took a look. There were a few tables set up, with cups, and clothes, and other decorations. Cool enough. There were even two DVDs of the movie sleepover. True, I love cheap DVDs, but I wouldn't be paid to watch that crap. But behind those tables were six boxes full of used toys. With the one word I'd been waiting to hear: FREE.

They had some weird stuff. A Mr. Mouth board game was the first thing to draw my attention. Not that I would have taken it, but it was cool to see there.

Anyway, I ended up with four items.

-A weird looking zombie figure. It's probably from some videogame, like Resident evil, or some movie like Evil Dead. Probably Evil Dead. Andway, he's green, looking up at the sky, and holding a shotgun. If you press a button on his back, a red snake-thing pops out.

-A tiny, non-standing figure of Blossom. Because I don't care what anybody says, the Powerpuff Girls kick a**.

-A green pin that says "Eat, Drink, and Be Irish." That is SO going on my vest at work.

-A Burger King light-up toy Mew, from Pokemon. Remember when Burger King released the second Pokemon toy line? The light-ups were pretty rare, and Mew was the rarest, save for the talking pikachu. And now I have it, still working, for free. Mwuahaha.

I did end up paying a little bit of money, though. I paid fifty cents for a Budweiser Mug, with a frog on the lid, and a button to make the frog croak. Later on, i'm going to sanitize the ancient mug, and replace the batteries. To hear croaking when I drink.

So, I've had a few awesome finds, and the season hasn't even hit it's peak. Before long, my neighborhood will be having it's yearly mega yardsale, which I'll be participating in. I'll sell some of my old crap, and maybe some of my new crap. As a matter of fact, I have a Redneck Christmas CD with a FREE sticker looming in it's near future. God, I love this miserable season.

Hmm, Flee Market...I don't think I'd wanna go there...Might be something dangerous best to stay away from.
