Theme: Mabon (I know it's a little bit late, but I'm gonna go ahead and do this theme anyway.

To make it a little easier on you guys, I'm telling you the next theme in advance so you'll have more time to work on your poems.
The next theme is SAMHAIN.

2. You can only submit one poem per contest.
3. Try to keep the material in the poems at least PG-13 (unless approved by me).
4. Be nice to your fellow contestants.
5. No page stretching.
6. No stealing other people's work.

"Life in Death"

A crisp autumn breeze
blows through the forest
on this mountain called life
and as we look to the sky
leaves fall upon us

reds and golds
all shades and hues
a rainbow of colors
even in death

colored like fire
yet crisp
like the wind on your face
we walk through the flurry of fall

In this season of whithering
there is death
but the promise of new life
still lingers

Let us hold hands
as we walk through the oaks
to the evergreen pines above
the evergreens that are heaven
and the life that lies beyond.

Bloody Mistakes

I gasp, sobbing, crying
not knowing what's right or wrong.
I cradle myself, dying
I know you wish I'd be gone.

I lay there in my puddle, bloody
as I light a cigarette.
I inhale it's sweet death, slowly
knowing that you'll just forget.

You won't remember me, I know
I'm just like all the others.
I bleed out my mistake
staining my flowered covers.
