The sun shone brightly on the sweltering town of Durem. It's blasting rays of heat and light boiled the city and it's contents showing no mercy to the pour souls who ambled to get a simple shopping trip done. Or atleast to Hikari. The teen hobbled down the heated pavement of the sidewalks, a bag over her shoulder and a small Tale in her arms, assumably passed out. Diae had long since fallen asleep, the heated enviroment playing torments on his body.
For one who prefered cold, Durem's heated temperature was truely unpleasent. Hikari glanced downwards at her sleeping bundle, a small fist clenched about the ever-present Rag doll, in the other hand was an empty water bottle.
"Diae...You're being lazy again." The author stated poking her son with a bag laden finger. The boy had been tired for what seemed ages. Where the rest of the family is yearning to feel sleep again, the Tale seemed to be ever unconcious. An envious state, only thought to be that the boy had siimply consumed all of the rest's sleep abilities.
The weight bore down enough to drag Hikari over to a small cafe. The outdoor seating looked heavenly. Thusly the duo meandered over to the small set of chairs for a much needed rest.

Why did the list always seem longer? Six now. There had only been four, it'd almost doubled. She sighed, looking down at the little girl. It seemed a bit fickle to be thinking about how many there were to buy presents. The child had just gotten home a few days ago, more like a week. But now it was the weekend, time to have fun. Or shop.
"So we're looking for an old book store? To find something for Rael?" Anemone asked the tale who nodded. "And who is Rael?"
"Rael is Aido's shadow doggie thingy animal..." Chailyn replied shrugging her shoulders slightly. She gave a giggle at the befuddled look on her mother's face. It was funny to see her confused. "He's really nice and he said he likes old books. I still can't figure out what to get any of the others," she sighed.
Anemone nodded, taking hold of Chailyn's hand again. It was a nice day though a little warm and it made her a bit sleepy. She muddled on though, having promised her little one a day out. She couldn't keep the child cooped up in the house forever.
"Why don't we stop for a moment and get something to drink?" she asked pointing over to the small cafe coming up. Chailyn didn't answer, too busy starring at the weird goggles a boy was wearing. What were those?

Feeling eyes upon him, Diae's blue eyes winced into the world of light. The tale blinked a few times to rid the light from his sleep sensitive eyes. There, a girl was looking at him. The boy gave a very shy smile complimented by a small wave. He tilted his head to the side, brows furrowing in confusion. This girl seemed familiar, yet he knew he had never seen her in his life. Small fingers twirled Eain, the ragdoll's arms. Diae looked down at his goggles before something clicked. The girl was watching his goggles. His hands reached up and grasped the leather and glass in a protective manner.
"Diae, hun, what's wrong?" Hikari blinked and ran a hand through blond spikes before glancing up at Diae's target of interest.
"Mum, She's look'n at my goggles," Diae said softly, snuggling closer to his mother for extra protection. To this the Author simply rolled her eyes. The boy was over protective and this act could seriously damage his social life, "What's her name?"
"How am I supposed to know, why don't you go ask her?" Hikari said, promptly dropping the child out of her lap. Show no mercy in the face of social activity, even though this person was probably busy. If so, Diae would learn another social grace. The walk-really-fast-to-get-away tactic. The boy needed to learn, she could not deny it. And even if she knew that said interactee probably would not have the time for silly questions.
"'Cause that'be rude." Diae stated.

Chailyn smiled in reply to Diae, lifting her hand to wave. She looked up at her mother waiting for approval before toddling over. He seemed nice, he had smiled and waved. So her nervousness disappeared, besides he wasn't in a group. If he had been, then she would've been more cautious.
"Go on then, I'll be right here," Anemone smiled sitting down and looking at a menu. She really needed something to drink, hopefully some nice cool lemonade while Chai met yet another person. She gave a shake of her head, another gift to buy that was sure.
"Hi!" Chailyn called out as she neared Diae. She smiled, "My name's Chai!" If only for the fact she didn't want to be rude, she'd opted not to blurt out asking what he was wearing.

Diae was caught in a slight moment of embarrassment as the girl showed blatant friendly actions. He hugged the small ragdoll in his hands close to him and in a shyly manner responded with a rather small voice.
" 'm Diae," He murmured through the fabric of his long sleeves, " And this is Eain!"
All shy thoughts were disregarded as his favored rag doll came into the picture. Holding up the raggity stuffed cloth with very visible stiches, he declared it's name. The small scarf about the dolls neck billowed in a blast of warm air.
Pride had vanished into another wave of shy manner. Diae looked back at Hikari who seemed interested in the menu now that Diae was integrated in the meeting and getting to knowing of other people.
"What are you doing?" Diae asked, looking at the other girls mother? sit down and mimic his Mu's action, "Your Mu is looking at the same paper my Mu is. Wha's interesting about it?"
The child did a poor job on starting conversations.

Chailyn smiled reaching her hand out to shake the ragdoll's hand, "Hi Eain!" she said. It seemed important to the boy so she thought it was only right to say something. "What are those you're wearing?" she asked pointing at his goggles.
Unsure of how to reply to what she was doing, she simply shrugged a bit. She was talking to him though she had been shopping before they'd stopped at the cafe. And then of course she'd seen him and come over. She was more interested in the goggles he wore to pay attention to much else.
She blinked a few times as he said Mu. That's what Aido called her mom. "Oh, my mom. It's got things on it you can order. Like food and stuff," she nodded. She pondered wondering if maybe he was related to Aido or maybe they just called their mom's the same thing.

His grip tightened around the doll as Chailyn shook a loose arm, but when she had shown no intention of making off with it the Tale relaxed and was able to give the not-so-stanger a bright smile.
At Chailyn's question Diae could looked down, examining his goggles, nothing seemed wrong with them, and why were they so foreign to the other girl.
"Um, they're my goggles." Diae said softly, reaching small fingers to stroke the lense of one eye piece. Glancing up at Chailyn he pulled them over his eyes in demonstration, "They protect my eyes." He stated before lifting them up onto his forehead as Chailyn explained what these 'Menus' were.
"Food?" Diae questioned tilting his head, a picture of soup came to his mind and the expression of disgust crept over his features, "Like soup?" Solemly asked, if not a little shy about his feelings towards the repulsive food.

Diae's bright smile soothed Chailyn and she returned it. She watched him lift his goggles and peered at them curiously. Those had to be the neatest goggles she'd ever seen, not to mention the only ones. "Wow! Those are neat!" she grinned.
Soup...she pondered. She had no idea if soup was on the menu. Why anyone would want to order soup on such a hot day seemed weird. "I don't know..." she admitted sheepishly. A blush crept onto her cheeks and she started fiddling with her veil, fingers pulling it around so that it covered her a bit.
Flopping back to the goggles she wondered why his eyes need protection. "What do your goggles protect you from?" she asked. It did sound kind of silly. Like she expected them to create a shield to protect him from the rain or something.

"Umm, I'unno." Diae said, forefinger to his bottom lip in confusion. Why did eyes need protection, or from what? "If I get a boo boo on my eye, I can't see. so maybe they're for keeping the owie stuff out of my eye." sThe more he thought, the more Ideas came to his head.
"Oh! and people wear goggled when swimming to keep the water out, and if rocks n' stuff while a big truck runs by, I can protect my eyes then too." Diae took a deep breath once his ideas had run short. Relaxing after his excited ramble.
The boy quirked a brow at Chailyn's fiddling with her veil, "what's that?" He asked blatantly, his youth keeping social courtesy at bay. His fingers curled around Eain's scarf in his wonder, the rag doll bouncing about in his grip.

"I never thought of that," she admitted giving a bit of a giggle. She smiled looking at Eain, the tale seemed to love the ragdoll and it made her like it too. "Maybe you could get your doll some goggles!"
Quirking a brow, she looked down at her veil. "It's my veil, I wear it most of the time." She gave a nod of her head. Picking it up, she slipped off the halo like tiara that held it in place. She turned it around plopping it down on Diae's head.
There, now he could see how nice it was to have a veil! She grinned happily.

Diae halted, immediat panick reaching him as his vision was clouded by a pink sheild. Small fingers lifted up the fabric to peek out and into the girl's face.
"Pretty." He mumbled shyly
The veil must be special to her to wear it all the time, just like his goggles. With slight hesitation he reached for the buckle behind his neck, prodding at the metal clasp. Eventually, and purely through luck, the leather strap came free. He took the eyewear into his hands and focused on setting the strap right before handing the goggles over to Chailyn.
"'es my goggles, you can try them," he stated with a hesitant air before adding "careful, 'kay?" in a rather small voice.
He busied himself with flipping the veil correctly on his head. Tilting his gaze to focus on Chailyn with his goggles, he was shocked as the fabric wavered to the side creating a cool sensation on the fine hair at the base of his skull, so he proceeded to tilt his head in the opposite Direction, pink veil fluttering after him.
"'Es nice!" He exclaimed with a broad grin, grip on Eain loosening slightly at the calm sensation.
Hikari glanced over to her son when something flowing and pink caught her eye. Unable to keep down a chuckle, Hikari continued to sip on cool lemonade while spectating the sight before her. Diae, standing barefoot with another girl, wearing and swishing a pink viel that sat securely on his head. Certainly a sight to remember.

Chailyn giggled, taking the goggles from Daie carefully. She grinned slipping them over her head and putting them over her eyes. She blinked laughing as her vision was sort of clouded by the plastic. It was neat to say the least and she couldn't help grinning.
"You're goggles are neat!" she stated. "If you put my veil over 'em then everything would look pinkish and pretty!" she laughed. Her mind was clouded suddenly with visions in pink, everyone were goggles with a veil over their heads. Of course, she wasn't sure people would be able to see very well.

Diae finished with one last swish of the veil before move the fabric of his eyes. Immediately the world went pink as if he were seeing through the eyes of a hyper pansy-girl with a pink obsession.
"Wow." He murmured silently, glancing about the pink world before following through with Chailyn's suggestion. He placed the veil onto Chailyn's head, the fabric draping over the goggles. Silently he watched with tilted head.
"H'es Pretty?" he asked in a curious tone. With his free hands he worried on Eain's limp fabric arm, observing Chailyn, "You look silly." He stated in a happy tone.

Chailyn giggled as the veil went over the goggles. Everything was immediately drenched in pink. She looked around, a bit in awe at the pink world around her. Lifting the veil, "Pretty but too pink," she giggled.
Slipping the goggles off, she handed them back to Diae sure he would want them back. "Do you have brothers and sisters?" she asked. She couldn't really think of anything to say.

Die fumbled with the buckle of the goggles in a bleak attempt to clip them back to their normal state. The stiff leather gave very little to his small fingers making the task difficult.
"Uh-huh," Diae nodded in time with his response, "Sie 'es my older brother and Zi 'es my big older sister. But Zi 'es gone alot." The Tale nodded and looked around him.
"Do you have brothers or sisters?"
