How many stallions had she met during her time? She began a count: Wyvern, Ballestra, Rahu, Calamity, Safi, Otaikimmio'takaan, Bliss, Dread of Night, The Phantom, Arod, etc. Okay, so she couldn't remember all of them, and her thoughts were currently occupied solely on Delano, anyway. Delano was the only unicorn (aside from Ballestra) she had met.
He had been very kind and gentlemanly, like a lot of the stallions she had met, save for Wyvern, Rahu, and Calamity (thought Calamity was civil to her so maybe that didn't count.) As she walked, she wondered if she would get to meet anymore stallions. So far, she had taken a liking to a lot of them, though there were some she figured she should've hated right off the bat, a.k.a., Rahu, but she didn't have it in her heart to hate him, no matter what. Ah well. She continued her walk.

Sometimes, Flame really wondered at the irony of life... and how quickly things could change from something beautiful, to a nightmare he would rather not face. Cloudy, his dreams had also been of late, as if the great spirits had forsaken him in the middle of his quest... or had he forsaken his quest in the hopes of a normal life?
"Riddles, riddles, riddles, the world is awash in a sea of riddles." he quoted softly, pushing aside a low branch, momentarily forgetting why he was out in these unfamiliar woods.

Aruna saw a flash of red as she walked. Heart thumping madly, she walked quickly toward it... only to find it was merely a stallion wandering about. Heart slowing, she slowly ambled toward him. Might as well introduce herself and might as well gain a new friend, she supposed. "Hey!" she called, trotting up to him. "Hello. You're a new face from around here."

Jolted back to the here and now, Flame spun around on his haunches to face the stranger, more then ready to fight. But the other was merely a mare, and a lone one at that, and he felt a little silly for reacting as he did.
"Goodness m'lady, do you always jump out of bushes?" he asked, attempting to soothe his frayed nerves. Damn boy.. he's the first and the last to worry me so....

When he turned looking ready for a fight, Aruna nearly snapped at him, but calmed herself down. He must've been pretty occupied in thought. "I'm sorry to have startled you, good sir. And no, I do not always jump out of bushes. To whom am I making a pleasure of meeting?" she asked politely, controlling her anger successfully.

The mare's boldness mildly surprised him, and he took a moment to study her carefully, trying to place her. Something about her reminded him of a description he had heard somewhere... but a name did not readily come to the for, and he decided it was best to answer her lest she do something else surprising.
"To most I am known as Flame, and who, may I ask, are you?"

"Ah!" Aruna said, wide-eyed suddenly. "So you're Flame! I've heard of you!" Aruna thought back to when she met Otaikimmio'takaan, and nodded. "I'm Aruna, Sir Flame. I met Otaikimmio'takaan a long while back, and he spoke of you." Aruna offered him a dry smile. "I will not say what he said of you, but hopefully you already know."

At the mention of his erstwhile pupil, Flames attention was suddenly, and quite intensely, riveted on the mare. "Tai, you say... well I never thought that he would be one to gossip, especially to a mare." he said calmly enough, skipping the pleasantries and keeping his glowing golden eyes locked on Aruna. But at least he knew who she was now, and upon hearing her name, he could now place her as the mare he had heard snippets about in various conversations with other local soquili.

"He didn't gossip," Aruna said, automatically defending her friend without proper thought. "Ah... forgive me. But 'tis true, he didn't gossip. I will say nothing other than that he just wanted to go and travel a while by his lonesome. He'll be fine." From the way Flame was reacting, she could tell Flame cared more about Tai then the golden stallion was aware of. Snippets of her conversation with Otaikimmio'takaan returned to her, but not completely. She barely remembered most of it as it was... then again, it was partially her fault as her mind was currently occupied by Delano... Shaking herself out of her thoughts, she focused her attention on the male in front of her.

Snorting lightly, the stallion of fire relaxed after her words... he was glad in a way that the lad was meeting others.
Should do him good...
He mused to himself, allowing his gaze to leave Aruna for a moment so he could familiarize himself with his surroundings. Until a stray thought turned his attention back to her fiercely. "You wouldn't happen to know the fool that dared to try and ensnare him? The boy is a two-legger... with long black hair and eyes the color of the sun at high noon."

A ghost of a smile appeared on her face as she watched Flame relax a bit, before he stiffened up again. The smile vanished when he suddenly returned his attention toward her.
"Two-legger? You mean a human?" Aruna asked, puzzled. "No. I do not know the human you describe who would want to capture Tai... is there something wrong with how he does it?"
Aruna grew up through a bonded human, so she found nothing terribly bad about it; then again, she was allowed to roam free as she pleased, so she wondered why Flame seemed so fierce.

"Tai has a home and a family that loves him, that boy had no business trying to take him from it." The stallion snapped, unaware that he was taking out a lot of his fustration on this mare. "Poor Celei and little Misae were heartbroken when they found him tied to a tree, and they asked me to find that boy and give him this," and he paused to indicate with his nose a leather satchel tied losely around his neck. "Of course they would have preferred Tai do it, but the lad ran off."

Aruna winced when Flame snapped her, though she managed to keep her wince from being visible. She was very vulnerable these days since her spirit had pretty much just dropped after what Rahu done to her. "I... see. Do you think he maybe he feels a bit caged when he's with that family, though? I dislike to know that there's someone who would want to take Tai away from his family, however..." Aruna blinked as she looked at the satchel, and nodded.

"If he does, that is for him to address.. not that boy." Flame spat, before realizing how rude he must sound. To recover he closed his golden eyes and took a deep breath, then inclined his head apologetically. "But my apologies dear... I must sound like a grumpy and bitter old man." he said, a little more gently.

She blinked, hiding a flinch, and then nodded. It seemed he was getting back to his normal self, in where she allowed a soft giggle to escape her mouth. "I would say that it is fine... but I shall forgive you, lest you feel as if you hadn't apologized properly. And... well, if you sound like one, it only means you're caring and quite worried for Tai." Aruna smiled slightly at Flame. Otaikimmio'takaan was lucky to have such a friend as he; Flame's coat reminded her of her own special friend...
