The winged lioness was settled comfortably in a sturdy savannah tree, having decided it was just the perfect place for a little catnap. As she drifted, not precisely asleep but not awake either, her black-tufted tail dangled down below her, swaying lazily back and forth in the air. Her wings, also, hung down from the sides of her body, the tips of her feathers brushing the branches beneath her.
Covered by her blindfold, Sei's eyes were peacefully half-shut. Her pale body was relaxed, her sides rising and falling gently as she breathed deeply in her doze.

 The light sound of clanking metal mixed with the sound of rustling grass as the small white figure made his way through the plain. His pale blue tail flicked behind him with each step, vivid blue eyes scanning the lands, taking in the scenery around him.
It had been some time since this creature had walked this realm, the once magnificent lion reduced to the form of a cub once again. His nose twitched, ears flicking as the faint scent and sound of another nearby caught his attention, the familar sense of another non-mortal nearby.
Smirking to himself, he approached the distant tree where the white goddess rested in her. Surely even if she was asleep, she would have sensed him by now.

The odd, tell-tale clank of metal stirred her ears, bringing them forward in an attentive flick. Her own stirring followed, signalled first by a slight twitch of her dark wings. Under the purple cloth, her eyes slid open, and the lights and colors that made up her vision came into focus.
Sei sought out the source of the sound with her gaze, settling on the bright glow of a fellow god. With a little concentration, she summoned a more normal sight for herself and took in the appearance of the armored cub.
As he drew close enough, after a yawn, she spoke, "Good afternoon to you."

The cub's ears flicked forward at the goddess' voice, blue eyes shining like a hawk's under his helmet. He was small for one his age, lightly built, but by no means week, clearly built to focus on the strength of his mind rather than that of his body.
As he reached the tree he paused, sitting back on his haunches as he looked up at the one who had adressed him, his tail ever in motion, flicking through the grass like a snake.
He was respective, bowing his head in a polite greeting to the older lion. But was she really older? Griffith was not so old as he looked, in fact he was very old, at least his spirit was. But this form was new, young, that of an ancient god reborn.
"Good afternoon to you as well, my lady."
His tone was nothing but polite, his posture regal and errect, as a nobel gentleman or a prince.
"And how do you fair on this fine day?"

"Very well in fact, dear sir," she purred, truly pleased by such a polite greeting. Courtesy sat very well with her indeed, no matter the size of he whom it came from. "Especially now, with a fine acquaintance to be made. And how do you do?"
Sei's muzzle was split by a genuine smile, while her tail continued its slow swaying in the slight breeze.

A smile crossed the cub's small maw, a soft kind smile that could pull those with doubt toward him and give them hope, the smiler of a powerful dream that could bind others and carry they with him on those small feathered wings. Griffith was small, but he was magnetic and knowledgeable in the ways of the world.
"I am well, I thank you for asking."
He bowed again, his bright eyes showing a greatness behind them, perhaps that of a benevolent leader, one who had full confidence in himself, though there was no conceit.
"The world has changed much since I walked it last," he turned his head, looking over the land they stood on, "but perhaps it hadn't changed that much after all."

As she watched from her resting spot in the tree, looking down on the armored cub, Sei decided tentatively that she liked him. Though he was yet small, there was something kind and yet strong about, and perhaps wise. Something quite simply trustworthy.
"You've been gone long, then?" Perhaps he wasn't as young as he looked.
"Oh, forgive me," she added after a moment, ducking her head, "For not introducing myself. I'm Seitaru'kai, Justice."

The winged cub nodded, clear blue eyes focused on the horizon for the moment.
"Indeed I have not walked this plane since my last lifetime." Turning back, his gaze fell on the goddess again, that soft smile on his maw, "I am Griffith of balance, it is a pleasure."
Griffith was in fact far older than he looked, or at least his spirit was. He was ancient and wise. Previously he had been an impressive and majestic lion, not large, but beautiful, bearing a brilliant white coat and 4 wings. Now he had been reborn as a cub, but he would attain that magnificence again. Why he had been reborn was known only to him, perhaps it had simply been time to begin the cycle again.

"If I have lived a lifetime before this, it hasn't remained in my memory," she mused, now faintly curious. Had she...? "There is only this, and I believe it's the same with my twin, whom I haven't seen in quite some time." She flicked a wing in dismissive distaste; although not knowing what her brother was up to made her uneasy, she was just as glad not to be in his company.
"Griffith of Balance," Sei repeated with a nod of acknowledgement. "It's an honor to meet you."

The white cub didn't seem much affected by the goddess' words, or rather he wasn't surprised by them. It she had lived another life, it was very possible she wouldn't know it. Reincarnation was an odd thing. Some kept no memories, never aware of the life they'd lived before, while others retained everything, the images of the past so strong in their minds that they could reach out and touch them, feel them, remember all that they had been and all that they had. Griffith fell into the latter category.
At the mention of a twin, Griffith raised a brow, though his reaction was hidden by his helmet. The god of balance was ever vigilant, ever aware, taking in every detail, filing it in his mind, and saving that knowledge for any use it may have in the future, a photographic memory recording all he heard and saw. He was silently intrigued, picking up on the lioness' reaction as she mentioned the twin and wondering what had caused it. Perhaps the two did not get along.
"The honor is mine, my lady."
Throughout their meeting and his silent thoughts, Griffith remained gracious and polite, never losing that kind gentlemanly air, nor that regal carriage.

It occurred to her, after she had said it, that perhaps the opposing nature of herself and her twin would be somehow pleasing to the God of Balance. And so, after a moment of through, she let it slip, "My brother is Dathcharu'kai, Chaos. Fitting as it might be, it hardly brings us together."

So that was it, her reaction now made perfect sense. Law and chaos, forever bitter enemies, yet both vital to the other's existance. How ironic and yet how fitting that the two should be twins.
"Ah, but without your brother would you not be incomplete? For even the light cannot shine if there is no darkness."
His words were profound, speaking with a wisdom aquired over multiple lifetimes.

The words were true enough, she had to admit - even if it was rather grudgingly. "Maybe you're right, and I would be...but perhaps the dislike is as much a part of that package as anything else."
The goddess' tail curled, its dark tuft brushing the underside of one hind paw.

Griffith nodded wisely, blue tufted tail flicking behind, metal gaunlets clinking as his paws shifted in the grass to a more comfortable possition.
"The conflict is part of the balance and the cycle."
The cub's blue eyes shifted toward the horizon again, silently remarking at how much it had all changed, and yet how much it had stayed the same. He wondered how the rest of the lands looked after his absence, wondered how life and death thrived and how the balance had been offset by his absence.

Quietly, Seitaru'kai was pleased to hear it. In a way, how she felt towards her brother was justified...it was the way things were supposed to be. There was a sort of order to the concept that appealed to her, even if her brother never would...but she would keep these things in mind, next she saw him.
"The cycle. I wonder, if he knew, if my brother would try to like me just for the sake of disrupting it." Her brow crinkled with amusement before she decided, "No, I don't think he'd be able to stomach it."
