Which profesional Go player's playing style do you like most?

Lee Chang Ho's aggresive, innovative playing style appeals to me.

I have played through a few of Shusaku's games. He's brilliant.

That is an understatment!!! He is the best player ever!!! His most famous move is the Hand of God or the Divinve Move or which ever ytou wish to call it! It was called the ear reddening move. He was truly a god of Go.

Cho U was awesome before he had a kid ... now he can't hold a title sad He was my favorite a few years ago.

Other than that, Dosaku. Not a lot of people hear about dosaku, because Shusaku won all 11 castle games and Dosaku didn't, but check this out:

The castle games took place before the komi rule, so black had a 1 stone handicap advantage, basically.

Shusaku almost always took black in the castle games.
Dosaku almost always took white; and even gave handicap stones sometimes! And he only lost two of his castle games. You can check out Dosaku here: http://www.kyoto.zaq.ne.jp/momoyama/Go/Preface.html

I like Yoda Norimoto, but he played to slow in the third match for the Honinbo title against Takao Shinji. Poor Yoda, win the next match! whee

Guo Juan is somewhat a favorite of mine because on youtube there are videos of her reviewing a game.
I WISH I COULD WATCH BADUK TV BUT I DON'T LIVE IN KOREA!!! scream

There are pro's that I want to learn more about and the first on my list is the the famous Go Seigin. Next is Korea's current #1, Lee Sedol. And finally, the last person is Chen Yaoye for he is now the world's youngest 9p.

{Chen Yaoye vs Lee Sedol} June 14, 2007

I also like Andy Liu, but he's not a pro yet. He represented America in the WAGC. He was doing fine until the fourth round I believe where he lost his first game (or was it the third round). In the end, he took eigth overall with China taking the championship over Korea.

Grr, I'm rooting for Takao Shinji. Not for his own sake, mind you, but because he's a student of Fujisawa Shuko, one of my favorite players ever (I'm biased; I'm a student of a student of Shuko). Probably just below Dosaku (then Go Seigen, then maybe Cho Hunhyun). I like Yoda but I still root for Takao this time.

I'm a fan of last generation, which kind of makes me feel old (... Cho U can't hold a title for long enough, Yamashita Keigo can't either, Takao seems to be growing where they got stuck, though. The young players seem to have too much "Burst damage" ... ya gotta HOLD a title (like Shuko holding Kisei for 7 years straight), not just get it 'n lose it.

Watching Baduk on TV would be nice, but if I were in Korea, I'd be jumping right into Myongi University to get a degree in Baduk.

Nothing wrong with rooting for Takao Shinji. I actually just started liking Yoda after seeing his picture one the AGA homepage (plus, him having the name "Yoda" also sparked my interest). Shuko sounds familiar to me for some reason, but I don't know why. I like both the old people and the yonger generation. If they play well, I'll study them for awhile, and then see if I like them or not (sounds childish for some reason).

Fujisawa Shuko: (Taken from the gobase.org profile page)

Born June 14, 1925 in Yokohama, Japan. Got expelled from the Nihon Kiin in 1999 because Fujisawa started to sell diplomas to amateurs by himself for a fee which is not in accordance with the fee charged by the Nihon Kiin. The point of this discrepancy is that Fujisawa reasons that the diploma fee is much too high, while the Nihon Kiin considers the diploma fee partly as a donation to their organization. The consequence is that starting from 1999 Fujisawa Shuko was erased from the professional lists of the Nihon Kiin. Lives in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa.

He got the title "Honorary Kisei" for holding it for the first seven years the title existed.
