Okay, I don't know about you guys, but I am disgusted and horrified about how much Green Day is in those horrid teen magazines like M, Bop, Tiger Beat, and all those other clones of the others. I have a subscription to Bop because my mom got it for me for X-mas ( rolleyes ). Green Day is in it like 4 times! Mostly Billie Joe, though. First it's the picture of him where he's leaning sideways and they gave him a caption. then 2 pages later it's "Hollywood Dish-tective" about how the album got stolen.And it's got a flattering pic of Billie above it. Not too much makeup and he looks really good. >.< The next page is one of those Jamster things with BOBD on it. Then later in a Simple Plan article ( stare ) it mentions Green Day as one of their influences and how they toured with them in Australia.
Sorry, it just makes me mad. They're an actual true rock band unlike the other wannabes and now they're in teen magazines, which makes me sad. And outraged. sweatdrop
By the way, is this a repeat thread? I dearly hope not...

That's a bit odd, most girls who read things like Bop and Tiger Beat are too young to appreciate Green day. I saw Billie Joe Armstrong in Teen People, and maybe in a couple others. If you're gonna feature them, why can't you write an article about them and how awesome they are, instead of just pics of Billie Joe (even if he is hot)?

No, you aren't the only one disgusted by it. I'm not saying I agree with you, but others share your feelings. Check the "Outrage!!!" thread to see more of people's opinion on this matter.
This may be considered a repeat thread, but it may not be. The other topic was started about annoyance at Billie being rated oneof the sexiest rocks stars or something equally mind-numbingly stupid to get upset about. So it's up to the admins then.

oh my.. hmm, well i could be bothered but i could also care less.
for one most of these magazines don't really know what the band is for and what they really are....
so it's better off to just let them try and sell stuff to people just because the biggest thing is out there right know (which is them if you didn't know but i really can't see how you couldn't know)
and not care, even if it's a bit frustrating to see it and to see people eat it all-metaphorically speaking of course- and claim that that's what it truly is when it isn't. and i'm basically stating what Alien said so i'll just shut up now whee

Oh dear God.
Look, bands can be open to whatever audienences they want. Then people natter on about how it's all about the money now. Well, they must play and hear BOBD/Holiday/WMUWSE/A.I. atleast 10 times a day. And it's their job. So no, it isn't about repetitive music anymore.
Opps, have droned on.
Anyway, CosmoGIRL! bums off Green Day. But I don't mind them, i like their fashion tips and articles :0

I agree those magazines are quite flamable but ya know thats what happens to good bands they get worshipped by teeny boppers then dumped off when a new band comes by its just thier 3rd or 4th time at the 15 minutes of fame and the whole time we just love them and reminisc (sp?) fondly about older albums untill they arent worshipped by the teeny boppers then we dont have to deal with people coming up to us true blue (fender) fans and asking us if we liked BOBD (I hate that so much) but some people listen to whats cool then they look back at what they have done in the past like if there is a new band that comes in and like they have older stuff I will try and find the older stuff and not press the repeat button on track #4 so when they do become popular they get teeny boppers and gain some blueish fans its a double sided sword if you think about it like that
