I have a lot of ideas for comics floating around in my head. This was awhile back but i had the idea to do a comic about super smash brothers with characters from other titles (such as sega) mainly i just wanted to do a ssb with sonic but i figured why not include a whole lot of others. (like forte from megaman who is AWSOME although not so much as sonic) anyway I drew a cover and even two pages but i didn't scan those. now i'm not a great artist i still lack some basic skills but i still think this cover is pretty good check it out.

Well, everones got to start somewhere =3
At least you can identify the chars though, which proves your arts good.
A little tip for your text. Use a faint ruled line to prevent the leaning and falling effect. It does help.

Any time, I like to help people out, especially considering we all have to start somewhere = 3

As Chris said, everyone starts somewhere. When I first drew Sonic he looked nowhere near as good as that pic, Jesse, so well done. And I've never tried drawing the other three characters there... No, I tell a lie, I did draw a lot of pics of Mario and Luigi about ten years ago... But I can't remember how they looked. :p
Anyway, I'd say that that pic shows a lot of promise. You just need to practice to better tune your style.
One thing I would say is try not to press so hard when you're drawing, because if you have to erase anything it leaves a nasty groove behind if nothing else, and scanners are very sensitive pieces of equipment. :p

Well, not all scanners pick up faint marks easily
*pokes his scanner*
Never picks up anything thats not done in super soft pencil

I find that adjusting the brightness of a picture is a good way of eliminating leftover grooves from erased lines, but you have to be careful that you don't brighten it too much to see what you've drawn.

One of the best things to do is use the level contrast in photoshop to remove the pencil lines and also, darken the inked lines you need.
I was shown a great tutorial for line arting and colouring by a friend and it helps, especially since Im more accustomed to pencil and paper.
*sighs and realises his £100 graphics tablet was a waste of money = /

Wait, wait, I think it does. Same option as the brighten option I think, or related to it?

There's no such thing as too late. It's all down to the amount of effort you put in when you start.
